The appearance of the same alluring dream
brings on adored visions of days already past;
and reliving them with delight, I can guard them
without fearing that what is precious is never lost!
I do realize that the stronger the feeling,
the deeper is the meaning of each yearning;
buried it under sand dunes where the bagger gets drunk:
all his sighs, all his tears never depart with the fading dusk!
Far off the desolate coastline, the angriest ocean stars to roar,
sailors unfurl sails, the western wind can diverge their planned route;
it's still daylight, and the young captain begins to show some fear:
how will he stay calm if the tides rise and he doesn't remain resolute?
Can the forces of Nature be fought with extreme courage and stealth
vowing, " The lowest is the fear, the higher is the chance to win. "
Those forces are stronger than anything that has challenged Man
on his long voyages: will anyone less intrepid battle with death?

The cashier guessed I was 58
The bagger, less than that
They know how to make this shopper feel great
I’ll be shopping there every May 28

I took my date to see Mick Jagger
But later she started to stagger
Said "I have some bad news"
Then she puked on my shoes
So I just decided to bagger

The gun seems gun-shy in this space;
where deer hides hang on rustic walls
and granddad-tick-tocks beat, instead
of hearts in hollowed skins. The gun
a “trophy-bagger” in its rack,
a loud-mouth predator at rest,
this motherless, brother-less thug
perceives no pity-pangs... the gun
now quiet, buckshot empty, cold.
Above the stove’s phoenix soul hangs
an antlered head with prideful tines
the man, with bear-paw hands, had won.
A fox in freeze-frame-trot, a stiff
with cat glass eyes, attests his prize.
Indeed, like litterfall they fell,
unseen his haunt in hunter gear, his gun
a junkyard dog of steel. I say
they're beautiful in life. He says
they’re beautiful in death. Between
our words — a stand of pine — the shot!
that brought the shock of ammo air
that rib-cage-ripped and broke the breath,
that hurled the crows against the sky —
the blast that felled the 10-point buck that failed to sense your goddamn gun!
Yeah... blame the buck his reckless pose
and buckled throes. You felt the king!
Behind tight trees you sat with dawn
in sniper-silhouette. The gun
felt nothing; no remorse, no joy
—it, too, hangs upon the wall.

What is a blowboat
which way does the warm wind blow
Im lashed to the mast
GINSU - KNIFE EASTPORT , MAINE USA
Ginsu Knife was the name of my sailboat that I sailed for years
here on the Maine coast and into the Bay of Fundy, Canada.
That boat could slice and dice the strong currents and cut
through the Downeast fog like a hot knife through butter.
After my wife died and it was just me and my daughter , age 9, I was
after something that we could do together.
I looked at airplanes and boats. Im a pilot and had a grass airstrip in
the back field, but I lived on the coast.
I ended up with a sailboat , though I did not know how to sail.
Well , we learned to sail and did lots of it, plus it was a good weekender
with cozy bunks and and a nice little stove.
Best decision I ever made.
Daughter went on to being an ocean exploration team leader and sailing
coach at a summer camp.
Yes , she is quite salty. As is her daughter.
Family tradition.

Hurry with their groceries.
Don't wait till I am overseas.
I'm asking where's the bagger.
If I do it I will stagger.
Why are the lanes so empty?
The people are of plenty.
Where are all the checkers?
You're a bunch of home wreckers.
I was due home two hours ago.
Why are they going oh so slow?
It's past my dinnertime.
It's supposed to be my dime.
My shoes are hurting my toes.
It's the day of waiting woes.

Supermarket celebration
shoppers are cytoplasm searching
for cellulose, muscle, photosynthesis.
Oils, petrochemical and vegetable
love: faith and trust
for instance, the Food and Drug Administration.
In America, the custom is
to avoid meeting the other shoppers' eyes. We graze
like cows or wander as zombies to the oldies played over the aisles.
I've always liked it here.
Cornucopia, yes. Also
a place to be alone and depressed, or cool off.
Water and bone
and the known ingredients. Neurons
for remembering, calculating, touching stuff.
I have a favorite bagger
who has the smile of a lover,
wouldn't rather be elsewhere.
Like glamour stars in bikinis
(but unlike tomatoes and bananas)
cashiers and clerks are admired from afar.
Joe says What's not to like? Ice cream, yogurt,
profit, tofu.
To eat your fill is a blasphemy against God.

he sits and he stares he miows and he purrs he's mocking and making his plan
i'm ahead of his game my agendas the same a battle of cat versus man
as i sit and reminisce it wasn't always like this at first we had an unbreakable bond
but all was lost when i found to my cost him licking his lips by the pond
i fed him the best roast chicken breast turkey and ham on the bone
we dined as a pair our friendship was rare till the night that he dined alone
my one fatal error was to trust that feline terror a mistake i will never repeat
if only i'd netted if only i'd vetted and removed the claws from his feet
if only they had dived when that feline felon arrived my garden would still bring me joy
the moral to this story so morbid and gory my carp should have been more coy

Frankly, My Dear
Oh, yes the saga of scarlet O’Hara
She was a spoiled little twit
She never had a lick of sense
No not even a little bit
She let all her raw emotions
Rule her every day
No matter the cost of it
She would have her way.
Finally she married Rhett Butler
A carpet bagger they said
But she used him all up
All his love for her gone and dead.
But in the end she loved him
But would deal with it all tomorrow
He had all he could stand from her
Later she would deal with the sorrow.
Love doesn’t conquer all
A lesson here well taught
Too much pain and sorrow
Is what their feelings brought
He had loved her through everything
But finally just threw up his hands
As he walked into the mist he just said
“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.

Talk about a Christmas miracle I tell you it was just amazing,
The sale of the century and it set my charge card blazing.
Why they were practically giving the stuff away I couldn’t just turn and leave,
The prices were so Earth-shatteringly low it was impossible to believe.
And no one seemed to be around and there was an oversupply of stock,
No pushing or shoving anywhere, I was the only shopper on the block.
The checkout lines were completely empty and I didn’t have to wait,
And the gourmet coffee that the bagger gave me really tasted great.
And then my alarm went off and I saw that it was three o’clock in the morning,
I had to be ready to go by four or my sister would leave me without warning.
Black Friday comes but once a year, she said, so be ready or be in trouble deep,
But I preferred shopping in my dreams so I rolled over and went back to sleep.
