Than-Bauk, another style using the step words starting with the same letter.
My youth is gone
Satan gaffed me
A genius trick
in 2009 whilst word-playing around
the trochaic monometer I then found
two lines short& sweet
terse enough to tweet
an integral title is also vital
for this recitative recital
christened it 'footle' as a memorable name
Sadly- it is my only claim to fame
FOR THE RECORD
FIRST FOOTLE Jan 2009 (Plural footles never really appealed- I prefer my original creation)
Bonnie & Clyde
too snide
both died
Piano music plays.
Soft notes emote mid air,
like tear-stung doves they fly
in atmosphere of fog.
The clouds, they shroud the sky.
Piano music plays,
the keys, they seize my blues—
the depth of blue, so vast.
Poetic ivories
harassed… recite the past.
Piano music plays.
Dull echoes haunt the halls,
sonatas without soul.
Since wick and flame lost light
my space inside like coal.
Piano music plays,
the white noise like a ghost.
My fluid fingers mourn
in melodies of you —
the thorns on rose reborn.
I admire you.
Your eyes, your lips, your hair.
The way your eyes shine when you’re passionate,
or the way your lips turn up into a smile,
so charming it’s alarming.
I admire your walk, as you seem so free.
Your wonder, that awes everyone around.
I see you with others, as you talk so sweetly,
and so calm, I wish it was me.
But I’m only in the background.
Never close enough for you to notice.
I admire from afar,
because I’m only in the background,
loving you from behind the curtain.
An impression can at times last a lifetime
Where time fails, it is etched in memory
To flicker and perish among my unlit wicks
The darkness tempts me to strike a match
I dearth to start a fire to burn away my past
However, you are a craven light switch
For someone to divert my attention
And guide me to the glory, I rightly merit
That's where it belongs.
Writing
Though I will play with others
They're never my first choice
With only one I want to play
My bluebird with her voice
So beautiful and warming
Like a soul enwrapping hug
I'll always dream about her
And two bugs in a rug
And even though I may play with
It's only her that I play for
I'll wait for her 'til someday
Here strumming at my door
Sublime background sound,
the sea is never silent;
No headphones required.
On Judgement day, after the dead have been resurrected, assembled, and judged by God. The saved and the damned now being clearly distinguished, the souls will traverse over hellfire via the bridge of As-Sirat. The faithful, will "move easily and swiftly across a broad path", led first of all by the Prophet of Muhammad himself and other leading lights of the community on their way to paradise (Jannah); those judged guilty of sin but still considered to be mu'minun (believers) will fall from the bridge into Hellfire (jahannam) but remain there only for a limited period of purgation; unbelievers, however, will find the bridge has become "sharper than a sword and thinner than a hair" and darkness blinds their way.Their inevitable fall from the bridge will be an "inescapable descent" into their fiery destination of everlasting punishment.

What grabs human attention?
The same things that bats & birds attend
"What's moving," not what's at peace, still
"The dangers," not the rest of vast sea
"Foreground," not Foundations, 'background'
So too, with space and sky, we see light, not space
II
Like bat, bird, tables - we are molecules
Molecular structure cannot be The Human
Though we share chemicals, particles, atoms
The You is a pattern, recognized even as U grow
Change your body, hair, teeth, face, inside weekly
The waves that oscillate as your life, is You
Not your beautiful face or height, or smile. Smile!

Andrew Wesley Legan does not publish poems online. Just responding here to a comment, because I don't publish poems and would not like to be associated with someone else's poetry... There are multiple Andrew Legan on internet. If I published poems they would be about cool animals!

If God did not play Hide & Seek with us
We would see GOD, all of God, nothing else!
So He hides, then gets more elaborate at hiding;
To humans He seems reluctant to be found - as it were -
Those who seek in earnest, will find Him
Because the Game has to end ... and begin again
This is what common people, unschooled, know
Jesus revealed as much about Abba Father; played it best
Aphorisms or EPIGRAMS on God and Human FREEDOM (?)
1. God is hiding in plain sight: God is the background, the very canvas, without which the foreground, the ART, cannot be!
The renowned Missionary-Apostle, Paul, told the Athenian philosophers, even your poets say that "in Him we live and move and have our being." The reference is BOOK of ACTS 17:28. The intelligentsia of Greece had erected statues to their many gods, goddesses, and one "To the Unknown God," to cover their bases. Paul told them the UNKNOWN GOD to you, is well known to us!
2. Why can't you see your own eyes, or hear your own ears, or beat your own heart? Why can't we return the living breath in a person that dies? Who gave the newborn its first breath?
The one or FORCE that gives newborn babies their very first breath of life ... who or what is IT? Why can't we get the same FORCE to restore the breath in a dying or dead person? So, we are not independent after all, even to the point of not controlling our heart beats, or managing the function of internal organs!
