Burn, Baby, Burn.
I was born in flames
In the screams
In the tears of despair
On grief that never healed
On bodies left broken
On shattered glass and empty hands
Just rage
And night
Burning through their eyes
I was born in fire
Burning with city fever
On July 14th
A night when time froze
Tweny-five hours.
No light
No mercy
Just blackout
A hole with no fireworks
A silence too loud
Dark night
Dark hearts
Cardiac sirens
No trace of kindness
The heroes hid
And “Son of Sam”
Yes, “Son of Sam”
The lover-slayer
Wrote love letters dipped in venom
His poetry
A slow, cruel burn
Each word
A loaded match
Each line
A whispered threat
But even then
Even there,
Something still breathed
I was born in flames
Between a siren’s scream
And a DJ’s scratch
Patching the universe
With stolen vinyl
And holy defiance
I was born in flames...
Aby M.
beautiful gift
lord has given me;
enriching my life again...
second daughter to dote on!
so thankful I am,
every day; fatherhood is...

“Love is the Supreme Artist Unseen” Poet
with a silent kiss does sperm enter egg
butterfly fondle pollen in morning dew
starling swallow caterpillar askew
with silent kiss does sunbeam caress window sill
spoon dips shallot soup with gentle will
waves ripple shelly shoreline in thrill ~
with a silent kiss does newborn lick nipple
cloud embraces cloud, fluff huffed ripple
bud petal unfurls to air in dare
wrinkled stranded beggar’s knobby hand
smooch offered seeded loaf, prime brand
hands warm curl steering wheel, feel genteel
anchor lands on jewelled ocean floor
with silent kiss does sewing needle pierce
linen white, knife smear butter delight
dolphin fin rouse whale tail, ship returns lipping
the silent kiss but Love in polar need
destined to meet in embosom’s clasp
receiver with giver unmasked grasp
~~~~~
Blue-eyed baby.
Eyes as blue as the ocean.
Hair as blonde as the sand at the shore.
Blue-eyed baby, how you’ve changed my world.
Blue-eyed boy, how you’ve grown.
How I love you more than all the shells in the sea.
Shine, my beautiful blue-eyed boy, may you brighten the day of everyone you meet as you have brightened my whole world.
My blue-eyed boy.
She loves to twirl and jump
expressing without a care
This is a girl that has big curly hair
her eyes filled with life, makes me want to hug her with all my might.
She can’t sit still, always has something to do
Using her imagination, how I wish I could look inside too.
She’s grown so much, i’m so proud
so happy she exists, she’s changed my life around.
I am poor but still want more.
I get a job but still want more.
I go to parties but still want more.
I buy everything but still want more.
I try a hobby but still want more.
I raise a family and don’t need more anymore.
For My Darling Sister, My Punky
I gave Him all thanks when she was born,
my sweet event, my newborn, babe sis.
All that she did, did my heart adorn.
Loving her when seven was valued bliss.
I brought Mom warm wash cloths each change time,
and told her when new bottles were prime.
Joy was snuggling her in bed or a chair.
My Elizabeth Jane's skin was fair,
with a cute button nose and eyes sky blue.
Five ten's have passed and my sis' love stays true.
A mother's love is so deep and real, it never shall fades,
She holds her child day and night, no matter what may happen there.
She smiles throughout she's crying and hides her miseries with grace,
So her dear child perceive only happiness on her face.
She spends her time, her care, her touch,
She never expects a thing, though she gives so much.
She stays awake when her child is sick or afraid
With quiet prayers, how much she cares.
Her love is a light that never fades away,
A mother's love will never lose its way.
"The stars beckoned her song to reach the crescent moon"
The song is sacred her heart broken black and doomed
You see the sun set upon her head making mockery
For her newborn was stillborn oh the hypocrisy
Her song was supposed to reach God and bless hearts
Instead it was one of agony and silver suffering sobs
The light of the crescent moon came through the room
As if death is beautiful weaving tears in a loon
As if her baby is an angel too soon
What is beauty?
Can I sing to it?
Can I bathe it in
Honeydew lotion
and read it ancient
love poems
as it fights the
gravity of sleep?
Can I feed it
pureed applesauce
and wipe its
dripping face clean?
Can I hold it in my arms
and feel the weight
of infinite potentials
I will carry on my
shoulders until it
finds place for them
on its own?
Can I grasp it
in the enchanting
gaze of a
Beautiful newborn?
Amethyst jewels a wedding ring
Blue birds song happy to sing
Cotton clouds in the sky in spring
Denim allowed in my casual dream
Ebony eyes in a baby face
First prize in a poetic race
Green grass between my toes
Happiest laughs from heart of gold
Inspiring testimony from lives lived
Joy and mercy my God gives
Kente cloth all colorful and soft
Lavender and lilies in my loft
Melodic music of various speeds
Optimistic people are an awesome breed
Purple is a color I love
Quietly I watch a beautiful dove
Rainbows and roses make me grin
Smiling profiling handsome men
Thoughts of love despite pain
Universal hugs create positive change
Whimsical thoughts and literature
X-ray and hope for diseases cure
You’re still reading makes my heart lift
Zero taxes to pay is a gift
WOMB WORDS
Womb ! Mother of All, what sayeth you
knowing activation before birth
births through girths, a Q ?
~ ‘I see rainmakers smoking pipes
drink from ostrich eggs fresh
then hike wearing silver Nikes
embryo cells magically multiply
hearing guinea fowl cackle on high
kicking sensations, baby legs sigh
atoms alight travel from mom to babe
life witnesses itself languidly lacing
almost due, a beautiful hue
womanhood elastic expands happy rosy
she is cow peace or yappy puppy cosy
who will give sweet milk, play with baby gay
while father on maroon
patterned mat prays every day’ ~
I birth in agony and ecstasy entwined
welcoming a caramel soul
divine !
The moonlight dances on the sea,
A gentle breeze sets shadows free.
Stars above in quiet flight,
Guide my dreams through endless night.
A whisper soft, a tender glance,
Like sunlight through the morning’s dance.
Your laughter sings, so warm, so bright,
A beacon in my darkest night.
Hand in hand, our hearts align,
Two souls entwined, a love divine.
Through every storm, through joy and pain,
I’d choose you, love, again… again.
I wake up in a room full of mirrors,
a funhouse of distortion
where reality is blurred.
I gasp, for in one of the mirrors,
I see a young version of me—
rocking and singing a lullaby
to my newborn baby girl,
with a full head of dark hair.
By my side, a little boy with blue eyes and blond hair—
a million-dollar family.
Sighing contently, I hold them close to me.
A muffled sound—sobbing—is heard in the distance,
the sound alarmingly familiar.
The mother sobs uncontrollably,
her graying hair and lines on her face
reveal a much older version of myself,
clutching to her heart
a picture of a beautiful, brown-eyed girl with dimples.
In the mirror, she reads: RIP.
The mirror doesn’t lie.
