Beneath the sun's eternal flame,
A dynasty rose to eternal fame.
The Cholas ruled with might and grace,
Their legacy carved in time's embrace.
Kaveri's waters sang their song,
Of rulers just, and armies strong.
Temple carved with sacred art,
A culture vast, a noble heart.
From Rajraja's mighty reign,
To Rajendra's seas where power gained.
Their ships sailed forth, the oceans bowed,
To the Chola's might, the world avowed.
Their temples stood with granite stone,
A testament to what they'd known.
Through divine halls, their glory shone,
Their culture carved, their power grown.
In the books of history, Cholas are bold and proud,
As their reign stood tall above the crowd.
Through bloody battles and warriors stout,
The Chola's names are what the warriors shout.
Their heritage, a timeless flow,
In Kaveri's depths, the tales still glow.
A dynasty whose strength did grow,
The Chola's legacy, we know.

Fervid thoughts fill my heart as I sleep.
It overflows with emotions tonight
for a secret love I've kept fathoms deep,
avowed only in the Sonnets I write.
In poetry we share the flames of desire
and his arms tremble with the need of me.
Passion kindled 'til there's a blazing fire.
My whispers are sighs in an urgent plea.
I've pages of rhymes about love's yearning,
and dancing with him 'neath a pale gold moon.
I imagine his touch leaves me burning
to free my love from its confined cocoon.
Take wing, my heart and fly without delay
The secret long kept; I must now convey.

He who would valiant be ’gainst hair disaster
Let hair hold constantly, though winds blow faster
There’s no discouragement shall make his hair relent
His first avowed intent to be in Brylcreem
Who would be going round with bad hair stories
Do cyclones then confound - wind strength the more is
No hair shall then take flight, though it’s a giant fight
His hair stays good and right by wearing Brylcreem
Since Lord he must defend his hair with spirit
He knows that wind you send, he shall not fear it
Some toupee’s flee away, he’ll fear not that today
He’ll labour night and day to be in Brylcreem

The one who fails.
I who falls.
The one that bails, within my walls.
You tell me when.
I turn away.
Search within, delay my way.
Cut off my yoke.
I stand in wait.
Another loke, always my fate.
I bend the knee.
I cry aloud.
My demons flee, I've been avowed.
I see my Lord.
He is my bread.
I've been restored, by He who bled.
He bear the cross.
I bear no shame.
No longer a loss, I bear His name.

The universe swallowed my thoughts
In another instant of uncertainty
Truthfulness and doubt together were something
Morphed into a new creation of nothing
As if my time itself were the black hole
And I, a dwarf star in the infinite sky
Waning in the moment’s loss of control
Where another hope was left to die.
Shapeless and unseen in darkness
Lost in the infinite, recessive light
A contorted mass of possibilities gone
Like the dim light of a rainy dawn
Ambitions and plans stricken by loss
And I, a fading star in a familiar crowd
Carrying an even more familiar cross
To be convicted of the sins I’ve avowed.
Brighter stars illuminate without me
Much like the brilliance I once exuded
A new creation of barely something I’ll be
With much less to adore in low luminosity
And as the universe recycles these thoughts
Uncertainty strangely becomes known
In all my doubts, I have become a have not
With my mistakes left with me for which to atone.

you …
sweetly spun me
like sugar into cotton candy -
from a dizzy bobbin
to ornament for a spring willow …
no lament avowed,
for there is a demon in your eyes
whose night blade feeds …
he stalks me -
spurious spear in his grasp
not near as lethal as the shimmer
that winks me from those depths, abyssal
or the tender tendrils, oily black
reaching from the unfathomable fathoms
to sunder my forsaken heart
and turn my marrow
molten … melting …
flesh burning for your arrow -
welts of passion that thirst
to weep crimson
yet not even you can pierce that
hermetic husk …
hardened by casual care,
another’s name,
and the tear-tempered steel
of your bewitching …
gaze.

The Paragliders like ravenous vultures flew
to southern Israel to predate on soft targets.
Like swarms of bees, they snuck, raped, maimed, shot, burnt and slew.
Terror did every man's fragile conscience becloud.
Hate made their embittered hearts to mercy forget.
Abductions followed, having to terror avowed.
Then came the IDF's genocidal intent,
having intended global laws to circumvent;
Children, women, all consumed by mighty vengeance.
A disproportionate response beyond balance.
Homes, hospitals, Mosques, Churches and schools are levelled,
as Gaza is by torrents of bombs bedeviled.
I do not with a livid Israel sympathize,
nor do I with a besieged Gaza empathize.
With humanity I have my affinity,
for my deep love for it, tends to infinity.

This many guys dislike its mention
Including an owner of mansion,
From avowed lover walking away
And next time block his coming their way…
For even the steadfast tax payer
Regular payment not his prayer;
One could swear there’s no Tax Payer Max
Who wouldn’t want the rules to relax!
As often as not tax evasion,
To depletion of wealth aversion...
What makes a citizen a patriot,
Long prattles about it like parrot;
‘Very proud’ the delivering voice
Though doubtful over it would rejoice…
In US a political risk,
Your rival handling the matter brisk
In Nigeria treated like God’s tithe,
Easily, payers like struck snakes writhe…
Tax payment states its own energy
“Mass non-payment nation’s elegy.”

The flaming fire rises to brush the sky
as dawn's gray horizon turns a red blaze
wondrous glow wash across the mountain high
warms the lake water to a misty haze
to invite the day and welcome the light
and allow Nature's turn to be endowed
so the wonder of its change can take flight
with its sights and sounds that can be avowed
dew drips from the leaves to shine a lush green
feathered creatures' songs echo when night's gone
the morning air feels refreshing and clean
as night disappears silently at dawn
Nature so beautiful in the morning
when the sun rises and dawn is forming

Morning didn't paint pastel skies
Thunder drummed, a sound I despise
Tears rolled down from my blurry eyes
Gloomy sunrise Gloomy sunrise
Melancholy feelings were grim
Life was sorrowful without him
Like words sung in funeral hymn
My light's gone dim My light's gone dim
I wear depression like a shroud
Before God's alter, with head bowed,
Incessantly, I pray aloud
My love avowed My love avowed
I became wistful and withdrawn
The moment I awoke at dawn
How long will my heartache drag on
Sorrow, be gone Sorrow, be gone

As her own rare find, now seen
Of your avowed 'queen'
You'll need to protect it more
This your own person.
As some costly made sculpture
Likely to fracture
Safe wrap it, in sending out
To where days rage on.

I dreamt a dream that renewed kindred memories
Rekindling past passions of moonlit love-themes,
Enamoring love-embers blooming heartfelt longings,
Crooning hints-romantic~ life’s a beauteous dream;
When merrily you enthralled me in springs of yore
Fetching yesteryears’ treasured keepsakes to fore
Lauding pages of albums seasons bygone adored
Reviving ardent allure, questing for love evermore.
I recognized fervid smiles of twinkles in your eyes
Tethered bashfully to arc of love on fulgent skies,
As together we watched winsome emotions climb
Inscribing on celestial canvas, halo of love sublime;
Just as Venus smiled and Moon winked impishly
When brilliant stars avowed~ forever we shall be,
And song of lark strummed of a mirthful morning,
Rising in paradise you envisioned for you and me.
Embraced in delight through night’s blissful fantasy
Inflaming love’s yearnings stoking endearing instincts,
Ascribing form and meaning to abandoned reveries,
Greeting me, you agreed~ life’s a beauteous dream.

Autumn - Constanza
To honour Connie Marcum Wong
A lady graciously refined
Who's sadly left the world behind.
Autumn sings her annual song
Russet leaves bow down in prayer
In colourful seasonal flair.
Sweet voiced angels singing along
As harp renditions play in wait
To greet her at the pearly gates.
‘Twas the season you’d loved lifelong
May your place in heaven be blessed
By autumn at her loveliest.
Words to you alone they belong
Hark as poets read verse out loud
Tribute poems to you avowed.
Carry our love, a love so strong
As you soar to celestial shore
To dwell with loved ones evermore.
To honour Connie Marcum Wong
Autumn sings her annual song
Sweet voiced angels singing along
‘Twas the season you’d loved lifelong
Words to you alone they belong
Carry our love, a love so strong.
