Dong Zhongshu, 179-104 BC

If you've a yen
(it's not zen)
you may bet your bottom dollar
while integrating yin yang cosmology
Chinese philosopher and scholar
Dong Zhongshu
(good old you know who)
favoured heaven worship results
over and above traditional cults
altho' a man well-read
he often wrote instead
yet to avoid confusion
knowingly said, 'Jump to assumption,
arrive wrong conclusion.'

Premium Member The Assumption of the BVM

Preserved from original sin by grace given by God,
In preparation for what she would do.
She lived to give the Father all glory praise and laud,
And in her loving care the Christ Child lived and grew.

She maintained her faith in Him even to the cross,
Always pointing out to us the Way.
Through her joys and sorrows, her glories and her loss,
We see an example of how to live each day.

The little handmaid of the Lord, great things are done for her,
So, we lay our worries by her side.
In her intercession, our confidence is sure.
For she points us to God, she is our certain guide.

Finally, the Virgin, preserved from every sin,
When the course of her earthly life was done,
Was taken into heaven, assumed body and soul,
That she might be conformed even closer to her Son.

ASSUMPTION

They be;
"Steadily assuming"
Thinking what you're not
Their perception
A reflection of them
They're always assuming
From we pass and what they heard.

Your looks,
"Sometimes don't define you"
What you see sometimes
Might be deceiving
People do disguise.
Your pains
Some people's gains
Steadily want to tame or shame you.

They want to know our wonders
So we always
Keep them wandering
Walking around
Asking about our stories
Assumption, our injection
For people not minding their business.

drinking from the deep well of evasion
well versed in dark practices of persuasion
fixating on dreams of what ought to be
avoiding what mirrors reality

totally free of social encumbrances
in spite of what the best assumption is
wandering through this life oblivious
hiding from anything too obvious
urge to be free of all expectation
jumped right into without hesitation

do not question need to swallow it whole
subtle art of self-induced mind control

Cold Kiss And Silent Goodbye

Fall blindly in love and plunge deep into a firestorm of intricately weaved
    pattern of uncertainty

Mask feelings with transgressions and feel the weight of trust shatter the
    matrimony of spiritual unity

Fail every obligation with deceptions and morph as the destroyer of each
    dream blinding an optimistic eye

Assume possession of the healing light and see frigid lips caress a selfish
heart with cold kiss and silent goodbye

Basic Assumption With Much Gumption

with great reliance
is accuracy of science
no coincidence

basic assumption
priest was full of much gumption
also compunction

water was flowing
all my flowers are growing
grass may need mowing

Trump surely was scared
found out that he is impaired
less he always cared

The days of emptiness
Were words I could not speak
Dreams that had no depth
Death that could not wind
Nor bind the time
Around the mantel clock
Lost restless sleep

While

The pendulum has peaked
And reached its furthest view
Tomorrow's paradigm was seen
In twilights past the in-between
Exposing what is new
Assuming it is true

The Immaculate Virgin
Preserved free from all stain of original sin
The course of her earthly life is finished
Was taken up body and soul to heavenly glory

Exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things
So that, she might be more fully more conformed to her son

Assumption With Much Gumption

Assumption With Much Gumption

What I already made was an assumption;
When I had gathered up much gumption;
My mind expanded,
And I safely landed;
More of my poems increased consumption.

Assumption Endangers

This is a anecdote about not taking things for granted....
Seeing how we often jump to conclusions based on wrong assumptions...

A top notched news photographer was in a mighty hurry...
He saw a plane on the taxiway, pilot in place and take off all ready...

He jumped quickly into the plane and commanded the pilot to take off and start flying....
Shortly after, he asked the pilot to make a turn to over where a forest fire was raging..

There was a moment's hesistation before the pilot queried why...
Pompously, the newsman replied he was a news reporter, that was why...

There was a another moment of silence, longer than the earlier momentary hesitation...
Then a quavering voice from the pilot, "You are not my new flight instructor?"... ..

Don't simply assume or jump to conclusions...
It can bring forth dire consequences...

Have a nice day, people!

Final Assumption

What is your final destination?
I'm pretty sure you don't even know
Why is there a need to correct people in your assumption?
Is it because you can no more walk your assumed role?

They who can no longer complete their story
Why do they expect you to...
Not only to reason but to reprimand in theory
Did I not listen to the wiser fools?

It takes an age to command in a way
But causes we know doesn't mean we know a 'now'
It takes ages to stubbornly stay
A tide to a wave, a smile to the grave cannot unbound

My life is over when I think about love
But my achievements in wisdom brings my words
Are we all worthy enough to be worth?
Are we worthy enough for our words to one day be heard?

I'm absolutely sure I'm never to know
That faithful day whence claim my final destination
To have walked the path to numerous assumed roles
Will I one day understand my esteem assumption?

Assumption Tore Apart

My intentions were never to fight you,
I had no one to relate to share to,
On many occasions you brought me back,
To the past through the same feelings you had,
I looked up to you, I respected your strength,
I wanted the fear I had hidden so long to go away,
My heart was dying slowly yet you saw me as a threat,
I looked to you like family, yet I got ridiculed instead,
I turned my back and walked away,
How could I trust someone who would make fun of my pain,
Is this the family I thought i knew?
After all the loss we all had been through?
My heart sank so low, I couldn't stand the pain,
I had no choice but to walk away,
It took all my strength just to open up my heart,
But it was your assumptions that tore it apart.

Assumption Is the Mother

Of all screw ups.
To presume anything often leads to foul territory;
It literally can land you on cactus needle laden fields,
Assuming bent over position will surely prompt swift kick.

Looking too closely may place eye balls in viper's glare,
Try enjoying total view without close up prying invasion.
Pretending understanding minus knowledge is fool's mistake;
Listen carefully to talker and he might kindly let you in.

"A poem to me is the essence of any thought,
Being built from its foundation into tower scraping sky.
It can fly like no other bird to places never seen,
Even spaceships can only dream of taking its place."
