The silent letters were not happy.
They wanted someone to notice what they did.
The k from knife walked in first,
but his arrival slipped past their eyes.
The w from write brought a pen.
The g from gnome brought tea.
The b from doubt raised his hand and asked - “Does anybody notice me?”
They shared their little troubles,
and joked about being ignored.
They lived inside familiar words,
but stayed quiet all along.
Then an oxymoron walked in
with a strange expression of his own.
“I’m an honest liar,” he said,
“I’ve been this way awhile.”
“I’m a pretty ugly genius
they told me so.
I’m seriously funny,
with my own confusing style.”
The letters shared a silent joke.
The visitor laughed along.
It was a gathering with no noise at all,
where the quiet letters finally got noticed.

red,
B is for Bear tucked away in
his bed.
C is for Castle with towers
so tall,
D is for Duckling who plays
in the hall.
E is for Elephant, heavy and
grand,
F is for Frog jumping over
the sand.
G is for Goat wearing bright
yellow boots,
H is for Hippo who munches
on roots.
Grab your box of crayons
and color so bright,
And paint all these letters
from morning until bedtime!
From Italian kitchens and Welsh poetic heights,
A champion’s mind takes flight tonight.
With ninety seconds on the clock,
He climbed the peak, Monadnock.
He spoke of stars, of Denebola's gleam,
An enthymeme left like a hidden dream.
From Brazilian Iguape trees that grow,
To Louisiana's historical Natchitoches flow.
He tasted sweet torrone on the tongue,
While Cajun fais-dodo songs were sung.
He braved an émeute, a riot loud,
To stand as a flaith before the crowd.
Beneath the sea, the
nannofossil sleeps,
While on the waves, the
tongkang leaps.
And where New Zealand’s borders meet the sea,
The red pohutukawa tree.
With letters woven, sharp and fast,
Thirty-two words from first to last,
Cywyddau rhythm in his stride—
He claimed the trophy with a scholar's pride.
Letter 'K'
Kaleidoscopic aura kindles the kunstvoll dawn sky,
God's kingly artistry kneaded in the lapis lazuli,
Kissed by the sun, kinesthetic earth feels klutzy,
Light rays knock gently on day's door,
This knockout scene would make anyone kneel
Or keel over in kitschy joy ~
A keen reminder of the glory of the Kingdom to come.

labors around us
with lithe liberty.
The lovely letter L
lords itself in silence
over ladies who love elegance.
The lovely letter L
loves little names
like Lia, Liam, and Lana.
The lovely letter L
lands upon English
like lace that litters a lake.
My coveted letter is C
It creates a chant, so carefree
coasting, careening
caress, convening
With charm, words flow contentedly
C-words, as cordial, candlelight
caretaking, and calm, can delight
charming, curative
are comparative
to the C-words, I care to write
savoring spectacular silvery sky-strewn scintillating stars
All along ancient avenues,
an abiding ache accrues.
Allow me to introduce
The charming letter
Lower case c
For she’s as cute as cute can be;
Corinthian, compact and curvy,
Companioned between b and d
She keeps her shape confidently
When transformed to case, upper
A large C with calligrapher’s
Flourish, grows up
Chic and sexy.
Sometimes she calls a
Crystal clear c
Rules over the oceans of vowels
Making i follow e
But sometimes, she’s wispy
And cirrus, sounding soft
Like an S
Wise counsel at the end of advice.
When she teams up with K
She loses her say,
Maybe she craves to cut loose –
Sccchhhhhhhhhh – she’s carelessly
Left hidden in scissors
Scene of a crime
Accused, she sits silent
In her indictment.
Socially mobile with h,
She follows her cue and
Takes up her place in the
Chorus of the church choir pew
She is centred
As middle c
And of music, she’s
The finale.

the early sun drapes gently across the branches
a whisper of promise, of new golden chances
A BRIGHT MORNING OPENS EVERY QUIET DOOR
and shadows retreat where the sun will restore
love clings tenderly in petals that shine
hearts lift overhead like branches that climb
BEAUTY BECOMES BLOSSOMS, BOLDLY BREAKING THROUGH
and faith feels steady, reshaped and born anew
waves whisper gently, curling near the coast
dreams drift forward, the ones I cherish most
COURAGE CAN COME, PEACEFULLY CALLING ME HOME
leading the lost where the spent still roam
night leans close and stars give counsel to the sky
hope clears gently and grief learns to fly
DREAMS DESCEND QUIETLY, GLOWING THROUGH MY HEART
and love, unwavering-binds what was torn apart
