Addict Poems

clean and cut open

sober now,
and every second screams louder than the last.
the silence i begged for
now drips like acid through my spine.

when i was high,
the world floated —
hazy, dull-edged,
a soft lie i could breathe in.
without choking on memory.
without shaking from truth.

but now i wake up
to light too sharp for eyes that have seen too much,
and sleep

No one says my goal is to be an ex addict
Not cursing them for their confessed habit
We all fall short
Of goals my Lord
I confess to wanting sex like a rabbit

Iv Never Been

Iv never been.
if this is what addiction feels like than maybe I do
get it .
the need to use again after each dose , I always need
another hit .
then there’s the withdrawal the longer u go , the more
u feel like u can’t handle it .
One more I need to see you knowing you shouldn’t but
you’re

Premium MemberThe Saved Addict

Everyone has heard the stories;
The ones where we fall.
Relapse in our history
Now we just try to stay strong.
Families broken
And children hurt
All because we wanted to do something
That paved the road to the graveyard’s dirt.
The quiet user’s mind in shambles.
They withdrew and succumbed to the pain
That the drugs were the only way to stay

Pain Addict

In the dance of life, pain intertwined,
A symphony of lessons, the heart refined.
I've savored every sting, every scar,
Grateful for each moment, near or far.

For through the trials and the tears I've known,
I've grown and evolved, my love has grown.
Addicted to the wisdom that you provide,
In your embrace, I find solace and pride.

You've taught me strength

Premium MemberBroken

He was a child
Dark hair, blue eyes
Smiling, laughing, delighting

He tried not to cry
While pain was absorbed
By his heart and soul

He invited the fear
Crimson shadows, doubts
Despair and hollow feelings

When life turned to dark
His light turned down, reflecting
All the silent sighs, the blend…

Of isolation, remote depression
Flowing in the veins
Where the needle sent its flame

Edging him from the

Myself a Bean

I live my life sober and clean
but once was called a bean

I started with promise and hope
then found myself drowning in dope

I smoked a dart from a pack I found
that led me to joint just to be sound

I made friends with a bottle I bought
only to find them gone after we fought

Premium MemberPraying For An Addict

I pray for you, but I’m just not sure
When you say you’ve changed,
Does it mean anything? When you reveal
Your heart – is it something dark
Or is it something blue, tender and true
I just can’t be sure about you… You’re someone
Who is rich in His blessings, someone
Who is loved, adored, accepted
Yet you neglect the truth, reject

Watching a Drug Addict

Dick was watching a drug addict
And dared to his next act predict;
Dick's bet: Addict would rich smiles beam
To show off teeth that like gold gleam.

But this the Zonked Guy did not do.
"Please, can't I meet lions in Zoo?
For so much I've heard of their strength
But can mine stretch to a full length!"

Just plain! there should

Self Help Addict Needles Unsuspecting Reader

Self help addict needles unsuspecting reader

Expounded late today April 27th, 2023
since being written
countless years ago
maybe a baker's dozen
as thee doodling cock doth crow
scouting about for carrion
scavenging for dead animals
and rooting about garbage to sell
at annual corvus entrepôt,
where at birds eye view

buzzfeeding crowdsource
talon (telling) the famed truth
regarding chicken scratch
scrawled

Addict Alien

Thoughts and acts attack sporadic a tactic without static/
Don’t panic you old addict forget that statistic/
I’ll slick back and go ballistic on a notebook with hope cooked rhetoric/
Stick affluent's in the pocket while they trick /
My treats click atonement with a tone meant like a rocket pack switch /

Ramblings of An Addict

Been outside for too long
I still wonder, whats wrong?
Can't feel the cold
Keep my chest puffed and bold

Where were you when it happened?
The whole ceiling collapsed
It felt like the sky was falling
The fact that I had faith is appalling

Around you, I felt at home
now its as if i am on the roam
Praying I don't fall

Drug Addict Celebrates Survival

For Val it was simply magical:
Surgeons might have said ‘surgical’:
A thing which had seemed cyclical,
His bouncing back ‘ Atypical’…

And there for minutes Rita stood,
Her stretching talk with Val sweet food;
Clearly, in her best of wished mood:
Must she always over fate brood?

So far, the Grandest Festival
To be held by Ambitious Val
And he had named
