Our Claim to Fame

Someone in passing says they’ve seen us
somewhere. It could have been when
we were singing or reciting poetry. At first they
didn't recall the time or place we met.
They smile as if great friends when seeing
us, and we struggle to remember. Maybe we
were just out for fun, but in the other’s eyes
the event was bigger than life. The sun shines
on us, but it could have been night.
It could have been a night when we were
seeing friends over drinks in a bar and
grill on a one-way downtown.
It could have been in a coffee shop
where we read poems, and in the heart
of each person the words and lines
held a different meaning. The atmosphere
was warm, and we called it love.
Someone could remember the time
we walked along the sidewalk, and they
passed un-noticed as they drove along.
I was shy when I was in eighth grade
and asked the girl with red hair if she noticed
me while I was in a crowd below the balcony
    where she stood.
O, how much it meant when she said yes.

I’ve lots of lovely acquaintance
Their beauty shines as silver swans
When we meet, we just shake our hands
Smiling each other is just haven

It takes time to know them
‘Til the nicest ones become my friends
When trust has grown between us
Relationship stays stronger, it’ll always last.

I’ve fewer neighborhoods across the road
Expanded by space so wide and broad
But we reach each other in spirit of brotherhood
Caring as one family sharing love and goods.

Their beauty shines as golden swans
In our community, we love and live as one
As we meet, we embrace with open arms
Giving each other’s support at tough times.

Acquaintance is as precious as neighbors
Balancing my life’s tripod, both life’s anchor
Whatever one sees as weakness and flaws
Accept, build, learn, love... in God, we all grow.

Acquaintance and Neighbourhood

Sadly , my acquaintance  of IsiZulu and other local  languages was so badly.
hardly to speak to acquaintance neighbors in the erea
 as majority of them were sadly.

Neighbourhood had an acquaintance woman
superstar of Hollywood,
African woman who spoke American English
fluently like an African - Americans.

Hollywood superstar once carried firewood,
Woodland is the name of  that Neighbourhood.
Place where you can find beautiful traditional houses
 and an  important old Palace.

traumatized good people always portrayed  Apartheid
and colony as the causes of trauma.
Hardly communication between some people
As  they were wounded by others hardly.

Painful life when you are victims of  injustice, Trying to transform some unjust people by  sharing love
and they continue to ignore your goodness
and kindness to increase your pain.

Time goes on a new dawn
arises. I look across my lawn,
and, wonder if I can bond
with neighbors like Lyn and John,
or Gina and Sean with a new baby.
They stand outside and wave or say "Hello."
They never get close , too busy as they go.

Unfortunately, times have changed and maybe
there is little to no trust between people.
At a distance I can see the church steeple,
and I wonder if there is some sense of security
among the congregation or are there insecurity.
People lock their doors or ignore you when they walk by.
I wonder how many people would help or even try.

Acquaintance and Neighbourhood Poetry Contest

Strolling through my new town
Strangers talking solely on their phone
Quiet, with the occasional ringtone sound
Despite the smiles and laughs they feel alone
Imagining a conversation with a friend yet found
That awkward nod to a stranger, still on my own
Now avoiding eye contact, staring at the ground
A community broken by an isolated tone
A place no longer bound
Time to go home

An Acquaintance With

The mechanics and its doing,
     the thought process in place,
the origin of thinking
     kept me searching for its trace.

The unsettling feeling,
     the stirring at the core,
the magnitude of fearing
     caused this emotional downpour.

The mind and heart reeling,
     the tremors on my body,
the fabric of my being
     shrouded in fear and anxiety.

A Message To My Acquaintance

October blossomed in the nautical dusk
Where my sight felt a beauteous pearl less brusque

Bright blue eyes, lips of rose and curls so long
The deft soul of tulips had a scent so strong

I adored the sound of her breath of smoke
I revered the words of fine wine she spoke

Her heart echoed the stuffed bear at the porch
Her mind echoed the shrewd nun in the church

That weather eye made my brisk steps brush by
Now my thoughts’ a child aiming for the sky

This long-legged lady is no lover,
Yet she’s a faithful friend like no other

Nonetheless, am I worth her precious time,
Or is my friendship a cent or a dime?

The will of tender’s a gift from above
Is it a token of God’s endless love?

I hope these verses will embrace her ways.
She’ll fly away from the flaws of today

Whenever those tears fall, she’ll have this verse
To nourish that giggle which breaks her curse

I am a writer of a bull fighter
Yet I feel those eyes will become brighter.

The Acquaintance

Reduced to an acquaintance
That you mayhaps bump as you cross the street
In contrast to nights in which sleep did not exist
Grass in our hair and naked
Dampened by the sprinklers in dimly lit streets
And miles walked barefoot
Without an ounce of fatigue
The most passionate and understanding love I've ever known
Reduced to an acquaintance.

Premium Member No Chance For Love Or Meeting Nor Calling This New Acquaintance In the Park Near Dark

I grab a glass of water;
As I drink it I don’t git any taller;
Got a basketball N my hand;
But it don’t make me a baller;
Met this girl in the park;
Along about near dark;
Asked for her phone, so that I could caller;
Guess what? ………………………………………….
She was married;
 LOL
Signed dump in the park;
No chance for love or a new acquaintance in the park near dark;
 LOL

First Acquaintance Is Never Perfect

Stream of questions has sunk in
That moment when you left me hanging
I wonder why you bid goodbyes
It just slip out in a split second
Then I said, it was fine with me
And just pretend to be okay

Without you knowing how I feel
I was indeed hurting and crushing
Underneath is a heart and soul ----
Sobbing in silence,
Yet, our story remains unfold
Until waves slapped my face
 I’ll wait and stay
…. in love with you,
And now your back
I’ll take this chance to start a new
Once again I love you, Hanna

Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Historical Events and Figures

Sea serpents are very articulate in a vehicle. They can wind great needles displaying exemplorary skill and agility. Yet a wise whipping weed can weave a wave from thin air. Displays of a iridescent knowledge. In true form. And exact. Yet a painted bud can never be said to be natural. Simple falsification of the tins. To disguise truth and spray a rain of falsity's across a sky, a sea, an island. Mainly a motion. Caressed with walking wailing walls. In cities worldwide. How corrosive. How correctable. Haven is as happy as a newly born bean. Ink. Innermost. In. Inns. Interesting. But buttons are unwelcoming. Pallor place pigs. X

Premium Member A Mercenary-Based Acquaintance

A young pretty lady, seeking company from an unknown
and to the hospitality of my open arms, she quickly lodge.
A stranger still remains an alien until some acquaintance is established
seeing what is right in front of me, such a feeling was purged.

Sweet conversation, chilly atmosphere and some sense of belonging
are benefits attached, hence nothing observable to judge.
Her youthful exuberance was glaringly into play,
but it was stimulating and an effective nudge.

She’s damn good! - Soft touches, sexual tricks, and erotic riddles,
all put my physiological smoke into heavy surge.
A sudden feeling of satisfaction and a ‘game over’ countenance surfaces,
she’s definitely an expert and what’s next is to dodge.

Taking a polite excuse, she run-walks to the bar’s comfort zone,
my instincts begin to define all her gestures to be a forge.
Then I realize my fat wallet is her hired escort,
officially making me a stranded victim of a beautiful scourge.
