The Acquaintance

Reduced to an acquaintance That you mayhaps bump as you cross the street In contrast to nights in which sleep did not exist Grass in our hair and naked Dampened by the sprinklers in dimly lit streets And miles walked barefoot Without an ounce of fatigue The most passionate and understanding love I've ever known Reduced to an acquaintance.
