I once said goodbye-2017

I once said goodbye aged 9, so tired and worn,
Lost in a world where hope had torn.
The weight was too heavy, the road too long,
I felt like I didn’t belong.
The nights were dark, the days felt cold,
A heart too broken, a soul too old.
I thought of leaving, of closing my eyes,
No more pain, no more goodbyes.
But then, something changed, a flicker, a light,
A spark in the shadows, so gentle, so bright.
I thought of the moments I hadn’t yet seen,
The laughter, the love, the spaces between.
In that silence, a whisper, a plea,
"Stay just a little, let your heart be free."
I once said goodbye, but now I see,
There’s more to life than what I believed could be.
The storm still rages, the road still steep,
But I found the strength I thought I’d lost to keep.
And now I walk with a lighter heart,
Ready to live, to heal, to start.
I once said goodbye, but today I choose,
To embrace the life I almost would lose.

2017

I used to drive around town for fun.
But this town is now overgrown.
With tall buildings that reach too high.
As I try to look up.
The sun turns toward me and distracts me.

I used to go to the little corner store.
New ownership.
That always seems to happen.
My old friends hide in the crevice.
I try not to.
But my car is collecting dust.
Just like my memories of them.

I used to drive around town for fun.
Alone in my car, with the radio on.
“Today we have a fun song about going to the beach.”
I would keep driving until the beach showed up.

My house is getting old.
I’m in disrepair.
Sometimes, I wonder if I’m a ghost.
They keep sending bills to my house, anyway.

I used to be young.
My mom used to call, but she died.
My car died too.
That rusty old engine.
Couldn’t keep up.
I still can’t believe it.
2017.
When I used to drive around town for fun.

S 2017 J2

Jumping over the jagged rocks of Jupiter's sixty-seventh moon
My soles are bleeding, but my soul continues chasing the memory

Maneuvering between boulder and ice
Irritating eyes to turn frost-bitten

Bitter wind whirling across my cheeks calling attention to the sky
Surrendering a quasar to quiet my noise and drown out darkness

Distant behemoths to haunt and torment
Terrestrial echoes of another life

Legs pumping violence since leaping across the volcanoes of Venus
Visions stream and seep into my subconscious, scratching the surface

Stars blind but ignite a fuse
Fueling the search for my story

Stored somewhere in the brainstem to throw my body off balance
Breathing hitches and heart rate halts, the race interrupted

Ions charging at one another
As the Greeks attacked Troy

Totally silenced for a mere moment in that grey galaxy sleeping
Soundly in the cold recesses as realization rocket-launches past neurons

Neon panic propels me to Neptune
Numbing nerves to prepare for judgment

Today’s my third anniversary,
since being declared clinically dead.
 January first has since held,
mixed feelings for me instead.

Today, I’m unable to look back,
recalling this time with glee.
But God had plans for my life,
that I couldn’t foresee.

Doctors called me miracle man,
which calmed my fears.
My Cardiologist called me Lazarus,
 which still induces tears.

“My story is HIS glory,”
of HIS power through me.
God’s force in my life,
Is not hyperbole.

But whatever the reason,
God has let me hang around.
I’m thankful in knowing,
I’ll be Heaven bound.

Sunlight is never ours to give,
nor need we cast a wanton shadow
on those who need the rays to live,
mankind, or flowers in the meadow.

(I think I posted this fragment some time ago. Can't remember. Old age. Go figure.)

Premium Member Soon On the Hunt For Others To Kill

Fanatical zealots goose-stepping at three o’clock
She warned her partner
Bam! Assault rifle shuts them both up for good

What did they do?
Jasper, the head of the Non-Thinking Youth Follower Committee
Asked the Head of Crazy Czar’s Security Team

I just did not like their looks, did you?
They high-fived each other
Neither wiser now but definitely feeling more powerful.

They were soon on the hunt
For others to kill
Hoping to bully their way to the top

It would be great to find a grade school
Or a laundrymat
Or a McDonald’s,

Assault rifles for everyone I say
We truly do
Need them in many social situations.

A day of somber remembrance
           My beloved father passed away
                 On this day, a lucky man
                  Peacefully, in his sleep
                     Without fear or pain
                     With dreams fulfilled
                      I wish I'll be as lucky
                      Rest in peace, Dad
                      I'll always love you..

It was January 1st and God had my day planned,
This day, at my door, the Grim Reaper would stand.
For I was in the throes of Sudden Cardiac Arrest,
And only eight percent survive this harrowing test.

God averted my death by the dread “Widow Maker,”
Now, to oblige my Doctors I’m a daily note taker.
What I’m now allowed to eat I wolf down unflavored,
But despite all this, I feel blessed and most favored.

My Creed To Him 09-26-2017

To protect
Never neglect
Teaching him respect to gain respect
To strengthen his intellect
To be his cheer up when he tears up about a hiccup
Be the voice of his reason when in need
To him I pledge this creed

To strengthen his fight
To help him strive through out life
By him I'll do right
Help him lift the world off his shoulder when in need
to him I pledge this creed

To be his open arms to cry in
To learn when he's lying
Will never deny him
Hold his hand while guiding
Give him life's lessons when in need
To him I pledge this creed

My Son
My Soul
My World
My love
My Prayed for
My hoped for
My wish come true
My will, My Creed
I give to you

Haibun 2017 - Images Me Feeding the Ducks Winter 2010-11

Haibun 2017 - Me Feeding The Ducks Winter 2010/11
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feeding the hungry, ducks, geese, swans, moorhen, coot, and gulls. The image depicts me in the winter of 2010. I hasten to add that to this day I’m still feeding them, and other wild birds. All so, and sadly, much to other peoples disgust, the squirrels, and rats too. And although I have not observed them, wood mice, and probably voles too are visiting the feeding areas, picking up scraps. Of the gulls observed whilst feeding the ducks are, black headed, herring, lesser black-backed, and the not so common, common gull, I must add not ever all on the same day, black-headed are present every day often in huge numbers. Health and none rainy days permitting I shall continue feeding and supporting the local wildlife, and I hope everybody that is able to, does too.
cruel winter
majestic in it’s beauty
2017
2017 we must depart
It was fun. For the most part.
But we must make room
For 2018.
For a new  start.
2018
I must tell you before we start
I want this year
To be amazing
I start by saying
Let's make this year full
Of great memories to share
To find a new love
To make amends
To make good friends.
Goodbye 2017
It was great but
We must depart
Thanks for everything
Peace.
Years Fade As Does 2017
2017 is done
Another year gone
Farewell to those we lost
Gathering years count the cost
I listen to our music and I know
Music bonds our souls as it flows
Don’t look back except for the good times
The years fade together so sublime.
2017 Comes To An End
It hasn't been the worst or best year that I've seen.
Tonight at 12 A.M., it will be the end of 2017.
The year 2018 will soon be here.
It will be the beginning of a new year.
I hope people will do better, I hope there will be less sin.
I hope that humanity will improve as the year 2018 begins.
At the End of 2017
Just took a Nitroglycerin,
Do you know what that is?
A pill to ease stress and pain
When the World seems to dis!
Never been written up yet,
From Nursery to Adult Jobs
Even though I was no foolish pet.
I only did so without any sobs.
Now in reality there are haters,
Plastering, pestering, being bothersome
Where ever I go and caters,
To things in reality so noisome!
It’s almost 2018! They falsely
Get together to prey;
And I’m no morsel hastily
Eaten to finally spray.
Goodbye 2017 of malice, spite, criticism
That I would use in 2018 era
To read the Cathetism,
For their corrupted circa de ‘17.
2017 Agradecimento
2017 AGRADECIMENTO
2017 está terminando
Para a vida e
Para os negócios
2018 bate firme à porta!
Agradecemos
a coragem
tirada da convivência
que nos leva superação
e o seu sempre alegre sorriso
OH! Alegria; durou todo 2017!
OH! Alegria teu sorriso
Enxugou
Muitos prantos do cansaço!
 E eu não sei traduzir
 a ventura que exprimes;
nesta sentimental língua
que usamos para falar;
mesmo assim vou tentar!
OH! Alegria,
OH! Convivência!
Agradecemos
as horas douradas,
em que a Alegria da convivência
viu o cansaço
se transmutar em Força
e fazer
a Beleza da convivência!
Em 2017
vimos a alegria
a sorrir
e logo,
no capricho do dia,
fomos atrás dela a cantar!
AH Alegria 2017
começamos a ver de longe,
O seu momento a acenar,
e lembramos
Como é bom,
Mudar o ano!
Agradecer
A convivência
E os momentos de superação!
Esperamos 2018!
