Notes About The Poem

I just heard that Congress has alloted 50 million dollars to discover why there are shootings in America.

1.  Violent video games

2. The powerful NRA who should have to pay all of it.

3. Ban assault rifles. Spoiler alert: No one needs them. No one!

Soon On the Hunt For Others To Kill

Fanatical zealots goose-stepping at three o’clock
She warned her partner
Bam! Assault rifle shuts them both up for good

What did they do?
Jasper, the head of the Non-Thinking Youth Follower Committee
Asked the Head of Crazy Czar’s Security Team

I just did not like their looks, did you?
They high-fived each other
Neither wiser now but definitely feeling more powerful.

They were soon on the hunt
For others to kill
Hoping to bully their way to the top

It would be great to find a grade school
Or a laundrymat
Or a McDonald’s,

Assault rifles for everyone I say
We truly do
Need them in many social situations.

Gosh, I feel old now. I remember a day of peace and love being preached, Martin Luther King, Jr., and...yes, it's true, schools without metal detectors. No, now I feel ancient.

You are pretty ancient my friend. I remember watching the shootings of Robert Kennedy, John F. Kennedy and my favorite, Dr. Martin Luther King over and over and over on black and white TV. Have we learned nothing?

Very apt line 'Non-Thinking Youth Follower Committee' - now I hope for just one week without news of a mass shooting-

Absolutely. If we stopped giving these NUTS who want "fame any way possible" the attention the media wants to give them - just say a COWARD shot 34 people today, and we are not giving him one iota of credit. Not even listing his name, these shootings might stop.
