Contest Description

What to Submit?

One (1) NEW original poem on ANY theme. The form is one I have created, and it is called QARINAGE. It must be at least TWO verses of the following rhyme scheme, ABBACCDD + Refrain, (the refrain repeats after every verse), with syllable counts of 10,5,5,10,5,5,11,11 + 6, (6 is the refrain), and the LAST verse must have an EXTRA line of rhyme (D, 11 syllables), and an extra line of refrain, (6 syllables), that is different but rhymes. You may present it in any form you wish ...

PLEASE - If you are unsure of the form, send me a Soup Mail and I will reply ASAP, or look at my example, and it should be clear. My example is called "Falling Like Leaves" and it is on page three of my poems, but you will find it more quickly if you just copy and paste the following URL into your favorite browser search space: https://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/falling_like_leaves_944953

Do NOT submit poems that are of a different form or put your name/initials anywhere on your entry. Correct spelling and grammar is always a sticking point for me - I won't N/A you for it, but I may rank you lower if it's off ... we are wordsmiths, folks, and grammar and spelling are the most basic of tools - please use them well. Blessings and best wishes to you, My Dear Friends & Fellow Poets - now go weave a world of words, and EXPLORE! :-)
