It is about 1:00 AM Sunday night (Monday morning). I have always been a 'night person' and have all but given up on being like the 'normal' 9-5 crowd. I want to thank everyone for all of your welcome comments on my work. I haven't been around here for a few months due to a shocking experience I had back in January. My family incurred much suffering through this ordeal. I want to share it with all of you who were so kind to continue reading and commenting even though I never get around to commenting on all of the awesome poetry I have read here. I hope to change that this summer. So....Soupers, here is what happened! On January 4th, 2009, I developed a fever and a little pain in my left abdoman. I took care of it in the usual way... some Motrin and was to call my doctor in the morning. As the night progressed, the fever went up to 104 and I got scared. I took a luke warm shower fully dressed, lol, because I was shivering so bad I couldn't remove anything. I don't recommend this treatment, given the difficulty of removing wet clothing. About 4 AM I went to the local (rural) emergency room. I was admitted to the hospital and taken up to a room. I guess the fever was in control and the ache in my left side was come-and-go, so I was hooked up with an IV and wasn't aware of any serious illness. I felt fine. There were friends who came to visit and my children drove 6 hours to come and visit me. I was hospitalized for 5 days, not a moment of which I remember. I don't even remember getting admitted. On the fifth day, my husband was by my side and a hospital employee came to my room with a wheel chair and said that he was taking me for a few tests and would be back in twenty minutes. This blog is feeling like it is way too long, so for the rest of the story see my next blog! Thanks for reading, everyone. The next blog will be some time tomorrow. It's 2;30 in the morning. Nighty-night everyone, love, Karen
