Precious Sight - Leighann Anderson's Blog

Many people today are still blinded by what they read, hear or even feel emotionally.  This can start even at the age of 3 when children begin to question what they see and don't understand.  My niece was 2 when she asked that famous question "why are you like that, auntie Leighann?", I had to ask my sister to explain to her that her auntie was like that because of a special way I was made and my niece asked why and then my sister told her that sometimes magic occurs making me look different, she accept it and went back to her finger painting.  However, when she was 3 I had taken her to the park to play on the swings etc and a black couple walked by and she asked "why are those people covered in chocolate?", they were not offended, they actually smiled.

Children are the most innocent and honest creatures of this earth and that ought to be seen as precious because it is usually lost when they grow up where lying creates that certain fog in their minds wreaking havoc with their all new and unexperienced feelings so they begin to bottle things up and in the end this bottle begins to crack and the smash into many pieces that they are almost impossible to count.  I am not a mother, but I have seen my siblings grow up and some times living a life of hell.  My brother was always a heavy boy so he was endlessly bullied; surprisingly he came to me instead of our mother, and told me all sorts of horrid stories.  I kept my anger hidden, trying to comfort him whilst telling him to inform the school dean, this only increased the bullying and thus I felt guilty, but our mother found out when my brother returned home covered in dirt, blood and faeces.  The bullying stopped when my brother begun to stand up for himself, I guess he grew sick of it all like I did.  My brother is now quite popular (tall and broad, not heavy - that was just puppy fat), but a goth like myself which our mother blames me for strangely!

These stories ought to show you how blinded people can be even with the sense of sight.  As you may have heard, sight is fragmented until we learn to see past what is in front of us; if a 2 year old can accept it why can't adults? They are blinded by perception and foolish assumption.  Therefore, sight that is not blinded by outside influence is thus precious because of how rare it can be.
