Suffocating Dust
Sombre and silent,
nothing bares a shadow
nor a trace of light.
Slow and lifeless,
every face is a blank
surface with no emotion
reflected upon it.
Dim and eroded,
every hand beholds dust
of every spirit’s feelings
and freedom; dust that is
suffocating and as venomous
as a snake’s bite.
Souls drown within the dust
but the memory of their
presence remains as a scar
upon our hearts.
