Drifting Blindness

Every night I lie upon this soft
cloud-like bed,
floating away to many forgotten
worlds of whispering flowing
words,
words that only he spoke to
rekindle my fading glow.
Many combine into dreams,
dreams that only I behold
within my lustful mind.
My eyes glitter in the twilight
of his sweet smile,
although reality itself is not
the same.
Many tender vibes penetrate
my mind like a dagger slashing
through a thin layer of my delicate
skin that once was stained by
his gentle hands.
Sadly blindness has shattered
my memory of his angelic face,
leaving my soul to drift away
into a forgotten world,
a world of compassion and faith.

You ended this on such an upbeat note..... it was a beautiful ride that took a dark turn and left the reader with a the good feeling of compassion. I would love to know the inspiration behind this.

I wrote this for someone that I once knew. He was a very dear friend who was a boyfriend at one time. His name was Samuel; he died during heart surgery in 2012, he was 34 but it didn't surprise me, he was born with heart problems but to this day I miss him and memories still hurt but still make me laugh which is contradictory.

touching write...If you have any interest in Celtic or Druid lore I was wondering if you'd write a verse for my new contest on Shamanic beliefs? I hope you will. Let me know in soup mail. Light & Love
