The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Spirit

Once, twice, I see the image of
his face shimmering within
my bewildered mind,
shimmering like a star in the
dusk of night.
I see his gem-like eyes glittering
like the oceans at twilight,
silently whispering music,
music that seizes and charms
my imperfect soul.
It poisons my heart with pleasure,
pleasure that takes the form
of a bubbly spirit swiftly
capturing many emotions within
its enchanting palms, like raindrops
falling onto soft virgin skin.
His voice enters my mind even
when I am sleeping.
It flows like water in a stream,
flowing over foreign soil,
the soil of my hidden secrets.
The feeling of his hands
gracefully caressing my
face wiping away the scars
of loneliness remains even
when he has gone.
Many thoughts become sudden
waves of temptation for
he is the spirit of the depths
of my heart.
