Poet Has Turned Off Commenting????????

Can't leave or answer comments, have made sure it's allowed in settings. Also left a comment on a poem yesterday and it vanished. Anyone else having this annoying problem.

Hi Tom, Why do poets assume the poet is at fault.? Such total drivel. That's enrages me, I an far from a monkey or an idiot and never play turn off comnents. In their system, this happened to me two or three times last week. I had a poem about this with 80 reads and 2 comnents. I deleted it, I blamed no Poet. The lack of concern here is painful. We drool over idiotic free verse Poems and turn out backs on fellow poets. You and Andrea, are above selfishness, both of you did care and went to bat for me. The rest? Coukd cars less. Too busy getting trophies. Gross! Pangie

Hi Tom, I just sent a msg to PSTeam alerting them to the problem, referencing your blog post. I assume the problem you describe is related to the system crash a few weeks ago. ~beto

Thank you Beto, I'm pretty sure it was somehow related to the crash and it wasn't just happening to me, I checked with some poets by email and they assured me that they had NOT turned off commenting. Thankfully it did not happen yesterday or up until now so hopefully the glitch has been sorted. Tom

Thanks you all for your comments, at first I thought I'd accidentally clicked something in error but double checked and I had not. I see I'm not the only one who has had issues. Ive rebooted all my devices and so far so good. Have a great weekend everyone. Tom

Hi Tom. I have noticed that when I go to a poets page it shows the comments have been turned off. I will refresh the page and the comments are turned back on. Not all pages are like this. Something is going on. There is a glitch somewhere. ~ Brandy

Poets can turn off commenting for a post or a single person. They can also delete comments on their posts. PoetrySoup does not "lose" comments from our database.

Thank you admin, it might pay people to check their block page to ensure they haven't accidentally blocked someone. Thankfully the problem seems to have cured itself Tom

One of the problem is that people accidentally block ones. They don't know that they've done it. This happens occasionally.

I'm aware of that and have checked again that I havent turned off commenting also poets whom Ive contacted by email assure me that they too have not turned off commenting ( I took a screenshot of the message that came up) also I have blocked no one and as far as I know, no one has blocked me. There is definitely a problem somewhere, used a tablet and phone and its happening on both. Tom

Hi Tom, I am not sure if I have had this problem, I have left lots of comments on poems that placed in my last three contests yesterday so I sure hope they got the comments. Hope this glitch is fixed. If you do not see a message at the bottom of the poem that the poet has turned off commenting, they have not _Constance

Yes I've had issues recently with comments made and then disappearing - and not just when commenting on a POTD as i know the comment can jump to the previous selection. Have also seen a poet able to post fifteen of the same poem so i hope this glitch is fixed too
