Hello all my PS friends and neighbors! I hope you will read and consider this blog before you comment your opinion. However, if you don't agree with me, please tell me and explain your point of view. I feel vastly uninformed about the whole picture of AI assisted art.
So, if you follow my poetry, You'll know that I've recently found an app that will, by following express directives, add music and vocals to the song lyrics and poetry I've written. Here's how it works...
I write a song, all my own lyrics, NOT assisted by AI . Sometimes I have a melody already in mind and the app has a way you can record that or another song you want your song to be similar to, and using that, create the music. It also has vocal options, male or female, and specific voices to choose from. Then you add an in depth description of how you want your song to sound. Starting with genre: country, Rock, gospel, indie, lternative rock, ballad, folk-inspired, soul, blues, hip hop... etc etc... then add the descriptive language to further detail your sound. Emotional, uplifting, vulnerable, heart breaking, joyful... and so on.
Once you've detailed it as much as possible, you hit create, and the app creates 2 versions to choose from. If it's still not right, you can go back, make changes and get 2 more versions... until it's exactly what you had in mind.
Now you have a demo of your song that is very professional sounding and realistic. For someone like myself, who lacks the talent for playing instruments and singing, performance talent in other words, it is prefect! I also have no one I know with a band who is willing to play my songs for me.
Now, I realize this demo of my song will never be the one to make it to radio or whatever... but that's not my intention. My intention is to have a demo to play if anyone were to be interested in singing my songs. Just submitting written lyrics will not usually get the attention of a recording artist or their agents. But to hear what the song COULD be... that might be the difference! Plus...I mean... how cool is it to hear your lyrics sounding so professional!!!
I'll just say that I'm having a ball making songs from my lyrics! I've submitted several here on PS, and I have a total of approximately 40 songs created. It is a lot of fun! :)
