Are poems posted on Poetry Soup considered published?

Hi Everyone, I have a question that I'm sure many of you can answer. I've noticed that some contests and publications ask for unpublished poems. Are poems posted on Poetry Soup considered published by literary publications or contests? They do contain a copyright.

IF we were all PAID members it would be a CLOSED group & less likely to be considered published but as long as folks can participate all over the world for free, the answer is yes - published. BUT I am not suggesting a change, one of the most important things about Soup is that it brings folks together from all over the world!

Yes but there's always the delete button on Manage Poems.

Yes, literary journals consider Poetrysoup as self-publishing. Small, closed groups are fine to share poetry intended for submissions. Soup is an open group.
