I awoke really early and worked on a poem whose finish has eluded me. I'm so appreciative of the quiet that allowed me to work and the poetry soup community that lends so much support. I'm always amazed how leaders in this community find the time to read so many poems and lend support. They do this at the same time that they are being creative and writing beautifuly, funny and sad powetry.
Perhaps it's community that is one of the hallmarks of this great nation. My husband and I just finished 2 of the 4 weeks of Lifelong Learning Classes. These classes are taught by volunteers who spend countless hours organizing, creating curriculums and teaching classes for seniors. They enlighten us and keep us young at heart. Just writing this I realize anew how great their contributions are and how fortunate we are to live in this city/nation.
So, yes, there is life after the election. It is alive and well. No matter the outcome, each of us continues to do the things that make this nation great - taking care of our families and our community.
