It is late. I'm relaxing, listening to music and taking a break from social media. I find that social media can become addictive and anxiety prodicing at times. So tonight I'm just feeling good about my determination to turn off the world. Sounds a little ironic doesn't it as I write this blog, but I feel as if I'm talking to a very special community here at Poetry a Soup which allows some introspection.
The outstanding memory from today though is appreciation for the generations. I had a good discussion with my son about the election and with one of my daughters. I wasn't able to talk to the grands today. I struggle with letting go of the grands as they grow up. Being a long distance Grandmom, I can't attend many of the school/sports functions. So I work at staying in touch in other ways, packages. letters, phone calls etc. sometimes they are more satisfying than other times. I wonder what my legacy will be? How will they remember me? I suppose the best solution is to be the best person you can on a daily basis. Today I' m so grateful for my children who are great parents (and aunt) to my grands.
