Biography

After 38 years of teaching, I now happily wander through the recreational pursuit of writing free verse. When work crumbles into retirement leisure, an altered shift of view invites new creativity - to find the meat in words. Seniors' fitness classes always bring the hope of physical regeneration - but if that ideal is a lottery wish, there's always the social benefit of communal grunting trying to make aging limbs stretch satisfyingly. Hobbies are the small measured steps of full days. _________________ My grandparents are of British stock (paternal) and Ukrainian (maternal). All struggled with immigrant poverty but persevered. My parents continued that journey of disciplined striving. All worked with intensity and made Canada prosper with stirring pride in its immigrant newcomers - their momentum + tireless labor on which to build a country. I am forever grateful.
