In late autumn our neighbour's black cat sits on the heated hood of the car A sacred Egyptian ornament sleek lines of balance Unlike our love games on clammy leather in bucket seats car host passion spinetingling touch Seasonal alarm clock set to spring like a cat off a cold hood

Hello Brian Sambourine, I guess that cats sleep anywhere they are comfortable. Enjoy your day my friend.

Hi Darlene Kitchener is not a far drive from Toronto at all. Yes my northern property does border a river. I re-seed areas with wildflowers yearly. Best wishes Brian

Hello Darlene Very nice to meet you on poetrysoup.com. I live in Toronto. Perhaps we are near neighbours? Fortunately I have a comfortable small cabin on the Canadian Shield, South of Bancroft - a grand spot for writing, forest inspired. Best wishes always Brian

Hi Darlene Thank you for responding. Here in Canada the fall is quite crisp. Our neighborhood cats love a warm car hood in October/November to autograph with their dusty paw prints. Hope that you are well + managing ok. Best wishes Brian

Hi Jan Thank you for your positive comment. The next door cat would often jump on the car's hood after our return to the driveway just when I sought a kiss. Best wishes Brian
