Receptive

In the songbird's throat a palette of colours startling flair in the white lace of morning sun tiny fierceness that shears the forest with its bravado deliriously unselfish unbroken vocal spear For a hiker, in statue like calm closing cluttered thoughts discarding tidy self musings his receptive ear to the rosy pulse of song to recall his beau with perfect pitch displacing willed isolation Chorus of vanity from a winged creature that skips through a wounded forest to wash away a world stained In notes pure, like ripples of water on a hiker's brow. Hello Sam, I appreciate your thoughtful note. I did re write the poem to expand on the hiker's internal self. Best wishes, Brian

Wonderful idea for a poetry contest - juxtaposition. A solitary hiker uplifted by the lone purity of a songbird's call seemed to fit your requirements. Best wishes always, Brian
