The Gist of Something

Germ of an idea
Adrenaline rush
Set your own agenda
                   breaching convention
Step back from fatalism
                    airlifting invention
Curb mind meekness
                    a silent ring of pretension
Words of flourish
                   no contamination
To unlock a brain
                    locked on compaction
Red hair intense
                   thought-thread ascension
New standards of beauty
                   but with complication
Discovery evolving
                   with fertilized alteration.

Robert Lindley April 10, 2020 at 9:37 AM Great piece my friend. A poet should attempt to cut a new path but always if well read other poet's ideas invade the mind and oft the soul too. Trick is to stay above the 90% in original thinking unless honoring a famous poet in sincere tribute. Then one may endeavor to emulate said poet. God bless... A fav...
