fresh as falling snow
warm as roasted chestnuts
sweet as candied truffles

i'm sending you
a care package
a special delivery

kisses by the dozen
across the miles
beyond the ocean
on this lonesome christmas day

Wish you were here, beneath the sky,
The night is soft, the clouds so near,
The stars shine down, falling they fly.
But still, I wish that you were here.

The night is soft, the clouds so near,
Beneath the stars, the night is still,
The moon's in mourning, its light a chill.

Shooting stars like streamers fly.
Laughter it echoes, it lilts the breeze,
It brings me peace, sets me at ease.

But still, I wish that you were here.
The birds will come and sing delight,
If you return to me tonight.

Wish you were here

Once again the night came
 Once again your memory
 Once again my heart felt,
 a little cold and misery.

 The sky went dark
 The clouds were heavy
In the midst of these raindrops
I again started missing you very

Once again am wrapped in the arms of nature
 The sound of rain
 The smell of earth
and the air with pixy dust and moisture

Wondering how you've been so far...
Once again in my universe, you became a tiny little star.

                                                                                        Love,
                                                                                        Aleena

Wish You Were Here

I wrap myself in my blanket, wishing it was your arms.
I imagine the feeling of your soft lips on my forehead,
giving me a soft kiss as a goodnight.
I rest my head on my pillow, wishing it was your chest.
I long for the feeling of being in your arms and feeling your warmth.
I wish the miles didn’t exist,
so hopefully my heart would ache less.
All I want is your warm hugs, soft kisses.
I wish you were here with me.

what is the appropriate postcard to send
When you land in hell?
Or have you remained self-centered still?

Would your mom want pitchforks from her dear?
Better yet one that says “wish you were here”.

No, send that to the ex-wife.
You know she’ll be coming along any time.
With her crazy habits, and her annoying whine.

Do you send one to your boss?
Why not? He is an obvious contender.
Another buyer makes a quick choice, a regular sender.

Someone hits you in the back with a pitchfork hard
Come on you idiot! Choose your mama’s card!

I Wish You Were Here

A raindrop falls from the sky,
I follow it patiently with my eye,
It splashes into a crystal clear puddle,
The rippling movements ever so subtle,
Something reflects I can not believe,
A figure I can not mentally perceive,
Those beautiful eyes staring so lovingly,
That warm smile that calms me internally,
Yet that figure is not me, it is you,
Eyes so flawlessly baby blue,
Now I can only wish you were here,
Because I've been so lonely without you near,
Then slowly you disappear into the rain,
Maybe one day I will see you again,
Up in a place far beyond the stars,
Because I know that's exactly where you are.

Wish You Were Here Revised

Getting old
The aches and pains more prevalent
I look back now
Family and friends

Gone

Best friends...
Taken too soon
I wonder
Why

Those who had tried to spread the word
Called home
Their voices
Silenced

Our leaders
Taken
Getting into "good trouble"
No more

For those taken
In the streets
In their homes
In the waves of compliance

My muse
My rock
My mom
No more

For all of those transitioned
For all of those lives taken
For all of those in a better place
Wish you were here

inspired by the song from Pink Floyd

Wish You Were Here

They say -
 she's in a better place,
I know it's true
 with all God's grace,
 those last few years
 were ..., well, you know
 full of tears
how you suffered so,
 never once complaining,
 the stroke, the memory loss,
unable to see, the darkness gaining
 the immobility, the endless pain,
forgetting me;
God was kind, compassionate,
 loving to set you free
calling you home despite my tears
 but for myself,
I fear
 I miss you every moment,
   wish you were here.

Wish You Were Here Loving Lockdown Aint So Bad Its What You Make of It

Broadcasting to you live from my back garden

Tunes on volume up

Grass cut best it's looked in ages

Sun's been out all day temprature nearly hit 30

Sunset about to begin

With a half drunk cocktail in hand

And plenty more where they came from

Barbecue already on the go

Job done

Think it's going to be a late one

Smiley face

Happy place

Priceless

Just writting to let you know

Cheers

Wish you we're here

Thinking of you

Fall Ing: and I Wish You Were Here

wild fire spreads through the trees
they sway uncertainly
and drop their bright burdens lightly to the floor
my boots make crunchy colorful confetti and i frown
at the people quickly gathering up the flames
with their rakes, burning them
as if they couldn't get rid of the beauty fast enough
i breathe in the smoke and the crisp air
stuffing each lonely hand into empty pockets
head bowed, but with a slight smile
i think of you

Wish You Were Here

as here all alone
 am at home
  your on my mind
we''re too of a kind
its fixs
so we don't get sick
don't my fears
I WISH
YOU WERE HERE

Wish You Were Here

I wish you were here
Have you found
What you were looking for
Its been over a year

I thought we would
Always be together
I hope you found
Something better

God said it was time
For you to go
I hope you know
I wish you were here

I cant help from hearing
Your love from Heaven
Calling to me
"I wish you were here"

We Wish You Were Here

Author Dana Redricks
March 13, 2019

I wish we were here
with us but now you're
but now gone to a better
place I wish I would have
done more to keep you
safe and now you're
not here
Ever though you haven't
been gone long we're missing
you like crazy
I know you're gone to better
place we're going to miss
holding you
Chevy, I hope you're
smiling down on us
because nothing can
take your place

Life sent us on different paths
Miles and more between us
Different circles different worlds
With time we grew apart

Life experiences incompatible
We simply no longer can relate
Less than nothing left to talk about
Yet I can’t help think back to childhood

When brother and sister we’d hang out
we’d sit and overlook the world
Dreaming up adventuresome escapades
We had so much more in common

Our love for running free
What else could possibly matter
When connecting at our inner core
At times I miss you so that I would ache

Like now when I’m on vacation
Feeling like I’m in a paradise
And there’s so much to explore
I wish so that you were here
