Wish You Were Here
They say -
she's in a better place,
I know it's true
with all God's grace,
those last few years
were ..., well, you know
full of tears
how you suffered so,
never once complaining,
the stroke, the memory loss,
unable to see, the darkness gaining
the immobility, the endless pain,
forgetting me;
God was kind, compassionate,
loving to set you free
calling you home despite my tears
but for myself,
I fear
I miss you every moment,
wish you were here.
