The Watchman

The watchman at his post looking for my arrival.I could see his head just above the back of the couch
Curtain pulled aside so as to not obstruct his view.
She's here ! She's here! The initial alarm would ring heard clearly to the chariot soon to whisk them away. Granny,Granny, a name I chose myself, building in volume and pitch as I heard their little feet doing a staccato rhythm behind the door in their overwhelming excitement as they were too little to wrestle it open.Oh my Sweet
loving heavenly Father everyone should feel this loved at least once in their lives.Thank You.

Watchman Nee

When I Experienced China I understood why
The Lord gave Watchman Nee such a powerful ministry!
Discovering the Chinese culture, I can understand
The reason behind the Lord’s decision!

I wrote several poems in China while
Understanding calligraphy—
Each stroke carried a unique purpose!
Love filtered in my life as I prayed in China
I saw the Lord’s hand more and more!
As I walked through Jiangsu with
The weight and knowledge of Watchman Nee
I saw love so pure for a foreign people
It brought me to my knees
“God has supplied all my needs and
Has not failed me once”
Now I am walking through China celebrating His Name

Floating around
I set up three memorials in China
In honour of Watchman Nee

"Same ol', same ol'!",
Cries the Sentinel.
"He pits the parties
To perfect His will
In His heavens,
And on His Earth!"

"I trust Him to do the right thing
More than I trust my own judgment."

"Same ol', same ol'!",
Cries the Sentinel.
"Their moral high-rank
Is only a Mirage,
Tricking a thirsty soul
That its way is safe!"

"I trust Him to guide my footsteps
More than I trust my own eyesight."

"Same ol', same ol'!",
Cries the Sentinel.
"His powerful help-
Irrelevant crutches
In their blind pursuit
Of deceitful wages!"

"I trust Him to keep on winning
More than I trust my own profit."

"Same ol', same ol'!",
Cries the Sentinel.
"The Savior loves you-
But there's no such thing
As acceptable sin,
Because it ruins!"

"I will trust Him and His choices
More than I trust my own reason."

"He comes, He comes!",
Cries the Sentinel.
"With Heaven's Armies
And all His holy ones
To keep His promises
For those who trust Him!"

"I trust Him to keep His Word
More than I trust the Meritocracy."

Premium MemberNight Watchman

It's a couple of hours into the early morning.
A television station gives its viewers a warning:
The channel is signing off the air
to the tune of a rocket's red glare,
and bombs bursting in air.
It's time to turn off the TV, and grab my flashlight.
I must walk the area to see all is right.

Cooling moon shivers
Between sharpening mountains;
My lone watch begins --
All thoughts carried far away...
Just twigs upon the river.

Dark gray clouds amassed
Sunlight beams rays through
Moisture 'pon green grass
Time when all things life renew

The Mockingbird sings
Loud and strong his song
'Pon the dead limb clings
He the watchman headstrong

Early one morning
Seeds and water placed
He spent hours singing
All the birds came_raced

His tune understood
All's safe come one_all
Even though some God forsook
But judgment's soon pall

The Watchman sings loud
Enjoy life today
And change from sin proud
Or judgment must weigh.

Watchman

how hard is it for the eyes to see,
past mans logic, past his own reasoning,
for a purpose that goes beyond himself,
that changes the way he sees himself,
rest assured, God sees through,
behind all we say, and what we do,
even when we don't have a clue,
the heart of his love continually moves,
watchmen stand guard night and day,
in intervals to watch and pray,
he guards our hearts, waking up to his call,
his love speaks through these walls,

Watchman Keep Not Silent

Sometimes as we speak the truth of what the LORD,directs us
to reveal to the rebellious house and nation__
We become afraid of their looks, and maybe dismayed
at their words!
We try to advise them to do the right things,to stay away
 from rebellion and sin,
But we are perceived to be their bitterest enemies!
For the LORD has put upon our hearts to speak his words to them___
Maybe they will hear or they will forbear.
Woe the rebellious, for they begin to show dissatisfaction___
They need us to cheer them with propaganda to be seen
 as their supporters!
A fearful watchman will cover his mouth with hands, and
 become like a dumb dog!
And the devil rejoices when the watchman cannot bark, and
 begin to see evil good,
and good evil!
Watchman beware when everybody speaks well of you,
getting to expose the rebellious house__
you are deemed as their enemy!
Watchman do not blow the trumpet to be loved, by everyone in the
 rebellious house and nation!
Watchman rejoice,if your name is written down in the books of heaven,
because putting confidence in unreliable man is vanity!

The Night Watchman

When the night falls
And the moon is up high,
You can be rest assured the
Night watchman will be stopping by.

As he does each and every night
When we all go to bed
This is at a time when our comfort
Is most needed so we can rest our heads.

After a long hard days work
After a busy and stressful day,
Whatever the case may be
The night watchman is here to stay.

His role is the greatest of all
His position no man can hold
He’ll never fault at his duties
He watches over all both young and old.

As we go about our daily lives
Day after day night after night
The night watchman is always working
At any given time not once losing sight.

Of every man, woman and child
On any given day as they each come anew
No, he’s not alone he has an army
Of angels as his crew.

Keeping tabs on everyone and everything
Even creatures great and small,
There’s no such thing as out of sight
When the night watchman is on call.

So no matter who, where or what we are
Even if a word is never to be spoken
The night watchman’s eyes and ears
For you and I will always be open.

Premium MemberIn the Realm of the Watchman Trees

"to hold, as 'twere, the mirror up to nature" William Shakespeare, Hamlet, 1601:

Along a path of solitude I tread,
flanked on either side by watchman trees,
a lush green canopy above my head,
in foliage the flutter of cerise. . . .

I gasp to see two cardinals appear.
Then farther on, I spot a white-tailed doe!
She calmly meets my gaze and shows no fear.
I can’t imagine in this place a foe!

The trees, unwounded, stand with dignity.
And whether skies be bright or overcast,
they guard this realm, and one will shelter me.
I kick off shoes and stop for a repast.

Now barefoot and relaxed, I write this poem
in quietude of Mother Nature’s home.

The Watchman

The morn rescued him from the night
He stood in front of his open fridge
And the pale light from the bulb within
Bathed his skin with a morbid tinge
Of a graveyand caretaker's pallor
Wasted as a crumpled paper plate

The cold breath of the fridge cooled him
Smiling, he started looking for a beer
That he knew too well wasn't there
He reached in for a frozen ham he hoped
He had forgotten deep in the freezer
Wrapped still in a crumpled paper plate!

The flame in contest combats the chill of the night
I see an old man in remembrance of his youth
his words gaped in jest if only to shroud life’s plight
scars of countless carnal lies a hub of untruth.
In the brazier raindrops snarl, routine so trite.

The trunk turning and grey,
Knows the secrets of his life.
                                                   The tree smiles in silence.
