Watched Poems

Watched 05-09-25

It's sunset.
Shadows cast across my face,
blades of grass
as tall as an oak tree.
Closing my eyes,
they fall on darkness.

Premium MemberI WATCHED

I watched you grasp for air
You fought and fought hard
I felt helpless
I wanted to help but didn’t know how
Your hospital monitors were going crazy
I wanted to cry but couldn’t
It was like voices in my head saying shouldn’t
Witnessed your agony and pain
Tears wanted to fall
I held back
Your eyes and body went into a seizure
I knew from within
You would be leaving this Earth
Suddenly your body went lump
I felt your leg and it was cold
Your eyes were closed and then totally breathless
You got your heavenly wings
I cried uncontrollable
Into the skies your soul soared
You roam now in the ever after.

Premium MemberAs I Sat And Watched

As I sat and watched the sun this morning, rise
It made me realize
There were children waving "Bye"
To the blue birds in the sky
When I sat and watched the sun this morning, rise

The blue birds flapped their wings
And the children on their swings
It made me realize
That children are having fun
And blue birds fly in the sun

"When I sat and watched the sun this morning, rise"

As I watched the sun this afternoon
I thought the night would be here soon
It made me realize
That when that sunlight dies
I'll sit and watch this evening's moon, rise

I sat and watched this evening's moon, rise
It made me realize
There were stars out in the skies
I could hear the angels sing
And I thought...what else this night might bring?

"While I sit and watch this evening's moon, rise"

Premium MemberThe watched are watching you

The watched pot never boils.
The watched clock slows.
The stalked knows,
to watch the suddenly still ones,
that lie moored with anchor bestowed,
just out of reach, wanting, staring, blinking,
in bated breath,
to sneak a furtive peak,
deceptive.
The watcher's silence and stillness disclose
the watcher's deception in plain sight.
The little birdie you hope
will not notice you when you freeze
to take a snap, or secret close-up glance,
is watching you intently.
The watched are watching you,
waiting deceptively on-watch,
as time slows, and
the game of mutual deception,
plays out.

If a watched pot never boils,
why am I looking at the steam from the pot?
Then I burned myself.

Premium MemberWatched It

Watched it, well not IT, not the balloon
with a clown attached to it.
Watched a true story better left alone
I’m all alone
I must dispense the dust cover of fear
My pillow is mauled
in toss and turn
My hand must not rest over the cliff
I wake up into full sunshine
as if
all the light that has ever been
hits me on the chin and cheeks

Funny how the dark tucks you in
and the dawn pretends
you’ve never been
and never will
be frightened again

Premium MemberI Watched The Waves

I watched the waves
Just to feel
When nothing is real
Fantasy is a real escape
I feel the drain
Stress leaving my mind
And I feel
The wind on my cheeks
I smell
The salt of the ocean
I feel
The sand against my toes
I just
I just want to be free
I'm so tired
Of fighting
Of crying
Of trying
So here I am
All inhibitions cut loose
I just wish
The waves would take me away
Take me far away
To the better days
I left behind
Won't you please
Just take me away
Prayers unanswered
I sat
I watched the waves
Just to escape
When nothing is real

Premium MemberI Watched Your Face

I watched your face as you read the words I had written.
Your face, delighted at the start, broke forth into a wide, revealing smile
That did not end at your lips.
You looked at me with recognition.

You were there. We were friends.
However, our lives moved on, separately.

You wanted to know how things were for me without you,
Back you went, intent upon my words,
Your face trailed through each stage of my life.
You traced my faults and flaws. Felt my
Confusion, fear, guilt, anger, hopelessness, and desperation.
I sensed you had reached the final entry-
A tear rolled down your cheek

You stopped reading
Looked me square in the face
You learned I gave up the daily strife and
Gave to God my wretched life.

I watched your face as you read the words I had written.
Your face, delighted at the start, broke forth into a wide, revealing smile
That did not end at your lips.
You looked at me with recognition.
I’ll be forever grateful for my praying friend.

Premium MemberWhen I Watched

When I watched
A stranger, whom I did not know
Or any man, do what he shared to show
Touch his woman, with desire and pleasure
Touch his woman, I would see
I enjoyed it as if it were me
Things changed when my woman
Decided to go, not by her choice you know
Now when I watch, what used to be pleasure
Now I have anger, because my woman is not with me
I than could say, I’ll visit my gal, and show her my love
As the stranger with his gal did and shared to show
Now it’s as if he is with my gal
As she is no longer with me
Not by her choice you see, but angry I must be
Because, she is no longer, no longer with me

Premium MemberHe watched with Love

He watched with love; eyes filled with pride.
Down slowly walked the aisle his bride.
He whispered “Thanks” to God above.
Eyes filled with pride, he watched with love.

She walked to him with style and grace.
Tears freely poured on down his face.
His light for her would never dim.
With style and grace, she walked to him.

Held hand in hand these two were wed.
Vows both declared with love when said.
Faced to each other they would stand.
These two were wed, held hand in hand.

This man and wife their kiss it sealed.
He veils removed her face revealed.
Two wedding rings stayed on for life.
Their kiss it sealed, this man and wife.

Feeling Watched

City life is blinding me,
Loud and clamoring it demands
Coaxes me out of my hands
Makes it so i cant see.

Theres too many trees,
All swaying with their own melodies
Some mirror my pleas
Others crack until i cease

To use their glass as mirrors
Used to view my own innards
Their furniture is arranged differently
Something i could never be.

Solitude is blinding me,
Its broken and rusted though
The walls of a house I once grew
A lone hut next to a tree.

Premium MemberI watched you as you tangled stars in the horizon of my life

I watched you as you tangled stars in the horizon of my life,
Stirring my imagination in your wake, a comet's tail gone adrift.
It was the overwhelming brilliance of your charm that envelops,
A sweet captivity, a game of pure magic, majestically imperative.
I stood, propped up by dreams, beholding you, an ephemeral wonder,
In a sleep dizzy from what you could do, what you're capable of,
And how I can feel when the undulations of your sounds spring forth,
Each word spoken, each lyric half-drowned in yearning, half in seraphic jest.
The images you've planted within me, the ecstasy of fantasy,
Weave my dreams and bring to me a fragment of Paradise in flight.
You know me, you hum the song of my silent needs,
In your poem, you are the verse that brings comfort to my desires.
I think life sends us temptations as if in a sculpted scene,
To spice up its own epic, to flavor its deliberate dishes.
From the beginning until now, in constant wandering,
You are one of my great temptations and likely will remain untold through the ages.

Premium Memberfeeling watched

I was walking along a pond
When I felt myself being watched
It was not a creepy feeling
But it was absolute.

This was the first time I had been in nature for awhile
Walking around a pond, feeling a soft gentle breeze
Aware of nature, a tree, a violet, a cattail,
Silence enveloped me, I felt cushioned.

So sure I was that I was being watched
I stood perfectly still for a few minutes.
Waiting…..

A small movement caught my eyes.
I turned and watched a tiny brown snake
Slither down the trunk of a cottonwood tree.
I knew then he had been watching me.

Tick Tock Watched Clock

Tick tock
The seconds sound
Minutes pass
Hands go round
Watched clock
Hours fly
Days disappear
Nights go by
Tick tock
Weeks come and go,
The pendulum swings
To and fro
Watched clock
Sand falls
Months turn into years
Life calls
Tick tock
Time doesn’t stand still
Watched clock
No time to kill.

As I Watched The Fiery Red Sun Slip Behind The Mountain

As I watched the fiery red sun slip behind the mountain
I tossed a silver dollar in the wishing well fountain
My dear wish was for the hand of my very passionate lover
And life together that such bountiful happiness covers
She that tells me, "my darling, my sleepy head, rise thee from bed"
Let us sightsee this world, and watch that huge falling ball of red
Me there pretending not to hear, but my lover knows my game
She laughingly dances right on over and yells out the same
And then she lays a very soft and a long passionate kiss
And that is the sweetest blessing that I did not want to miss
I reached out to snatch my lover into our large silk bed
Saying, "darling let just stay here and make sweeter love instead."

As I watched the fiery red sun slip behind the mountain.
I tossed a silver dollar in the wishing well fountain.
