It’s never too later
To just walk away
You can do it quietly and alone
Or publicly as part of a movement.
When is it time?
When you find yourself isolated
From those you called friends and colleagues
As they seem to drift ever further off
Into far left field, and on out beyond
Into the truly dark and tangled weeds.
And what do you gain?
Freedom.

Raise the banner – answers draw near,
El-Shaddai reigns, our mighty God on high.
Sing louder now, let freedom’s voice be clear,
Let praises soar and echo through the sky.
The Son has set us free – we are free indeed,
Darkness shattered by His supernatural light.
Dance, for we are touched by Heaven’s Hand,
Our feet anointed, proclaim peace and insight.
A different beat shall guide our feet anointed,
With eyes of discernment, use what you possess.
The chains are broken, devil’s control is crushed,
Our bloodlines blessed; our paths lead to success.
On Christ, our Rock, we build never to sway -
Let God walk and talk with us each day.
When Sara and I take our walk each day,
We usually go the same old way.
Today we decided to make a change,
We decided to make our walk free range.
We went to a park named Natural Springs.
It had a dog park and playground with swings.
We chose a trail with overhanging trees,
We had a full sun, but also a breeze.
I saw a small path that led to a stream,
But Sara said, “the path’s too extreme.”
I gave her my, I really want to look,
And she said, “I’ll sit here and read my book.”
I walked a few minutes, looking about,
Then thought, I’m not sure just how to get out.
It wasn’t long ‘til I found the right path.
I crossed the stream without taking a bath.
There was my Sara, as I topped the hill,
She told her new squirrel friend, “here comes my Bill.”
We shared my adventure as we walked away,
We were glad we tried a different way.
They crowd around their leader
unqualified, unfit
Vying for some action
all chomping at the bit
They’ve given-up democracy
their morals are all gone
Instead they honor Donald Trump
a two-bit, traitor con
They don’t want an America
with those who aren’t White
They’d rather burn it to the ground
and threaten that they might
They’re homophobic bigots
and condemn those who are trans
Scared of life, scared of love
they punish them with bans
Like preachers, they quote scripture
hang crosses from their chains
But then deport small children
far away, alone, on planes
The MAGA base is poisoned
hating all that’s not the same
Then praise an unfit moron
who’s a fool and has no shame
We won’t give-up our freedom
our vote, or right to talk
Together, we will march as one
resist, and walk the walk
I am grateful every time I take a walk
along the shore, in a forest, up a mountain
when across their paths I’m lucky enough to roam…
For every time I do
I can hear nature whispering to me on the wind…
“It’s good to see you…welcome home!"
cardboard mattress
concrete box spring
cocooned within the threads of shame
pillow stained
with dried tears of despair
air pockets
hover with a pungent force
that’s the way I remember her bed—
as I walk by.
part time meditation is of no use
peace must become our orientation
deluded cravings of ego excuse
imbibing love’s divine bliss vibration
cheerfully repay debts of love we owe
settling all our karmic dues one by one
making childlike heart pure like pristine snow
let our soul’s aura shine like yonder sun
free from thought, as awareness self-aware
doing nothing we invoke a bliss squall
with universal consciousness we pair
vaporising thus to become the all
there are no shortcuts, we are in no haste ~
before we see God, we must make heart chaste
How are you with long walks
At night through the park
Where shadows pepper the imagination
And thoughts flow on
With nothing to hold them back?
I love to take those walks in the dark
Both alone and with my friend,
Deep through our mind
To visit lost images,
Memories that live in the shadows,
Remnants of the past.
Do we remain in the shadows
Where my friend with knowledge dwells,
Or do we bring to light those images,
Reviving older times now asleep,
Permitting them a chance to escape?
He paces through ardor.
Ardor with scorched feet,
Feet in fire for love, forged in blaze.
Blaze that does not burn
Burn but brands his personality.
Personality with resolution,
Resolution hindering infamy.
Infamy he swallows completely.
Completely to make his son grow
Grow uninjured, undefeated.
Undefeated, he positions
Positions at the pit’s verge,
Verge where anxiety and destiny are vivid.
Vivid is the quietness of ransom,
Ransom as the price no one will grasp.
Grasp how he risks the world.
World where his boy might become open.
Open to choose the trail,
Trail avoiding him stagger
Stagger through the dark unaided.
Unaided as the father strides,
Strides but shapes a trail through stone.
Stone by stone, he builds a road
Road that is not bumpy but good and superb.
Superb becomes that man.
Man who walks not for his grandeur
Grandeur as a guide his son’s hand.
Poem by Mugisho N.
Autumn my desire, you glean,
cool bracing air, vibrant color scene.
We saw the feathered edge of the sunset
and dreampt of an evening's wish to explore
Where the beating heart of our yearnings met
And invited romance at the seashore
Where time began to merge and reminisce
As white caps slowly furrowed the pebbled sand
The twilight revealed our heart's eagerness
When we walked together, warm hand in hand
Imagined dreams beneath a star-lit night
And basked in the glorious firmament
Where waves were dressed in white from the moonlight
and sounds from the sea whispered enchantment
As we came to capture Saint Elmo's Fire
That was glowing deep inside our desire
COME, LET’S WALK TOGETHER
I am not invisible;
look, and see:
I’m alive and well;
blood, bone, and flesh,
I’m the needle in your eye:
yes, that is me:-
I’m no longer a wanderer below;
I've risen high:-
I am up in awareness,
and will not soon die;
and where I go from here,
is in God’s hand:-
Where you shall try to escape,
I’ve been;
where you once held me back,
I now, freely stand:-
Hey, what would you
have me to do?
Indignantly treat you
like you treated me?
What manner of human
animal are you?
How can you viciously
destroy your own kind?
What manner of creature
would do what you do?
How can you stoically devour
your own for all to see?
What infestation destroyed
your born sanity,
and eventually devoured
your beastly mind?
Come, my brother, there’s still
some hope for you and me:
Come, my brother, let us walk together,
upon this land:-
Come, my brother, let us walk together,
hand in hand:
Here, daily walking together, in peace,
love, and unity:-
Harold the coffee pot jumped out of the card drawer and went on a walk
A chicken in the kitchen on top of the oven saw him and began to squawk
The coffee pot hushed her by promising her coffee if she would settle down
He was quickly ambushed by an overly inquisitive questioning silver clown.
I just want to take a walk, he told them. I have been in that drawer forever.
A stuffed dog began to follow him, licking his neck, his name was Clever.
Harold ran for his life and got into the drawer where he stayed.
with no desire to leave, which means he never again got lost or strayed.
On my walk across the sandy beach I stumble upon a beautiful shell, which only kings and queens and princesses would possess in their tall and grand castle.
An oval shape, was this shell. Its smooth edges curved so well, and as the sunset shadowed down on us , it began to shimmer and dazzle.
Holographic pink and blues dancing in my palm, smiling, I just stood in awe, bewildered in marvel .
Walk into the Light
Beginning with the eye:
One like a needle has,
And pierce into your mind.
Enter the Source where
Light produces Light:
Never returning to
This Darkness left behind.
Walk into the Light.
