Bubble of Positivity

She liked walking.
At a certain time of day—
As she’d pass my place,
Her pace would melt.
Like sugar on a stove,
Before quickly bubbling up,
As I opened the door.
All colours caught her eyes.
From the softest red,
To the brightest green—
She would lean towards them.
With shocking electricity,
That 1000 volt smile,
Brighter than any colour I’ve seen.
Presentations were her worst nightmare.
Something straight out of a thriller—
Her heart would beat out of it’s chest.
Though rest would escape it,
As she dashed out of the room,
Into the corridor,
Frantically grabbing my hand,
Before stopping once more.
A girl who did it all.
At the very least she did most—
Keeping her love hidden away.
She’d pray to never be hurt,
Pushing away those who care,
Hoping I’d see her smile—
But all I saw was her glare.

She said her name was Amahle

Mere gaze to her direction, goosebumps perforates my skin
There's something out of this cosmos in her aura.
Sense and meaningful in me,
at loggerheads trying to define her.
Tap into my senses, the mess is beyond containing,
melting seduction, dripping all over my body.
caught within dungeons of my own heart desires

Her radiating flawless pigment,
complimented by her smile
I'm gasping for breath,
fear I may be palpitating

Ease the volt, In my now state,
 I fail to keep up
The strikes are too strong to bear
Woman daughter, be gentle on me

My only crime, is falling in love
Peep closer, see the bruises on my knees,
from kneeling and praying for a better half.
Lil did I know, heaven would delegate a goddess
In a human form

Back on my knees,
Palm to palm,
Sending gratitude to heaven
For not only listening but responding to my prayer.
Today, in my mailbox, a gift wrap was delivered,
Signed xoxo Amahle

Honorable Death

Deus Volt I scream by my brother's side,
a distinct bell rings measuring 39mm wide,
high stepping over the deconstructed rubble,
klashnikov volley is what's giving us trouble,
our advancement through the city begins to slow,
primary and secondary left with one mag to go, (clink)
armor so tight it impedes the breathing, (clank)
honor steps in like a sword unsheathing, (clink)
clinking of a grenades stops under my chest,
my brothers have been saved you know the rest.

Fonty The Vegan Vulture

Fonty was a vegan Vulture.

Other Vultures tried to offer their advice

Told him they were created as carnivores and eating
meat

Is an essential part of their diet.

He stayed true to his commitment to be a vegan

Ate fruit and berries but they never satisfied his appetite

He resulted to stealing stale bread from pigeons

Crows kept him away from the cornfields

He was too weak to put up a fight

The Vulture Committee knew he wouldn't last much longer

Sure enough he died from starvation

The Volt joined together as a Wake and all said a prayer

Then they quickly ate him.

Regret Me

You will regret me I said waveringly
not realizing the seriousness of the words just spilt out over my tired lips
you will regret not treating me the way you treat other girls
for is my worth compared to a stack of bananas on the shelf, im the one constantly left off the bunch too rotten for banana bread
you will regret not loving my bigger body
for the smaller one will never be touched by your hands, even though it was your actions and falsifying words that built this body
you will regret me
you will never see this version you created
a Frankenstein who never meets her master, be it better than coming to life for you over and over again for a small volt and bolt of love to be left strapped to the table and never played with. For my loneliness is louder than the rattling of the chains left on the dungeon walls
my actions might not be innocent in this plagiarized tragedy you are acting out here
but you wore the leading roles shoes very well
I will regret you I said knowingly
Steering right back into the tornado. waiting for it to hit just to feel the eye of relief so I can feel your love one more time

Like a current volt ride a long in a linear plane
I'm in a encase vessel in Him
a traveling body of water surfacing traveling spiraling Collective waves above and below the floodplain
In between the cracks of the terraining
Wind down withered parts loathing loathing ever rolling Across the hills and flats and grasslands
Through the creeks in the valleys winding to and froing
Young waters flow like a liken
a treebranch seldom bends or brakes
Spiraling cross the dirt and sands stream
Waters run horizontal weaving and cleaving
On course dry lands part waters I am traveling
But first I am energy band, birth from the heavens
Like a current volt ride a long in a linear plane
I'm in a encase vessel in Him
a traveling body of water surfacing traveling spiraling Collective waves above and below the floodplain
In between the cracks of the terraining

Premium MemberTo Ohm It May Concern

To Ohm it may concern,

Please volt in the upcoming electrons. Currently Watts is sparking some interest by generating some positive juice, while Joules is using most of her energy in a negative campaign. Watts is loved by his amperes and has the capacitor to charge the crowd, while Joules is well grounded with good continuity in this electron cycle. Yet, Watts is looking for a surge in the poles by quote, “This is a make or breaker year.” Is he intimating that Joules has transformed the field by coaxing his constituents in DC? Tune in to one of the cable shows to help shine the light on that subject. Nevertheless, though we have a heavy load to bear, these electrons always come down to the wire. Shocking!

Sincerely,
Lumen Hertz

P.S. Please relay this current information to illuminate your neutral friends down at the busbar in order to prevent an impulse volt. And sorry for any shameless plugs.

The Shot

The afternoon was clear and hot
Bad weather to do games of sport
Definitely of any sort
But this was the only chance I got

I boldly took my spot
Thoughtless of the man I am not
Wounds now clot
Breath now short

And like a thunder bolt
I let it float with volt
Swishing as it feels every knot
Tomorrow will thank me for this shot

Premium MemberDecision To Fly

It has been a long time.
Summer of sixty-nine.
Dad, Uncle Don, and I
Their decision to fly.
Wires, you control type.
I ran and walked inside.
For Pepsi cold as ice.
Was there under five.
Had just arrived.
He hit a high-tension line.
The mega-volt kind.
The arcs flashed, pure white.
Blinding light, ten feet high.
As we knelt by his side
tears welled, began to cry.
It has been a long time.
My Dad survived.
Etched forever in mind.

Truth is stranger than Fiction.

Celia's Suite

Celia from 'A'
  tenures the lot
Standing near those Grey
  Bay's rocky scabs
slapp'd by tide
Stagnant water
  Green at the feet.

 Into time too
From womb birth'd
briefly hearts
  Remark regularly,
Geiger counter

Measuring, drone
Circulating
A style that too
  Tho pound for
Pound bests itself

Croons when moored
  Hits the deck when able;
Dies. After all, that's
Part of circulations
Verse & volt what

 Did they do
The songs from strings
 The blood bells the
Thin pines at work,
   ’44 ash magnum
Coiling skyward?

I would like to find something, perhaps
a metaphor or a simile that would surprise
and cut through the torpor, some volt laden
charge of insight to jolt a nerve or to set
a synapse off into a spasm.

I would even settle for the last dying
embers of a vision left smoldering
by a Prophet or a Sharman high on fungi,
to cradle and bring back a spark to light
the dark pit of a numbing indifference.

But the evening washes out almost
to the point of exhaustion as I picture
seaweed endlessly clawing at rocks
like the fingers of a drowning soul,
senseless, disconnected, yet unable to let go.
Then this.

A Play On Words - Live

A PLAY ON WORDS – LIVE

The power failed on Thursday night.
I was left completely in the dark..
So I rang an ELECTRICIAN
To see WATT he could do
His response wasn’t very POSITIVE;
Because of the CURRENT crisis, he said
He’d decided he would go to EARTH
And stay OHM in INSULATION.
Though he still got LIGHT exercise daily
With a SHORT CIRCUIT round the park,
He said he couldn’t visit me;
The Covid rules wouldn’t allow it
He put up a strong RESISTANCE
Although I begged him to help,
He was following government GRIDLINES
And keeping his social distance.
I tried to PYLON the agony,
Pleading my old age in the MAIN,
But his answer was still in the NEGATIVE,
He said he would CONTACT me next year.
I’d have to do the job myself.
He was clearly in his ELEMENT
It wasn’t his VOLT, he insisted
He refused, so I RE-FUSED.
