Premium Member SPARKING LOUDLY

I wasn’t born on the Virgin Islands
No books prophesized my coming
No shiny stars above the hospital bed
Only handmaidens welcomed me in
Most likely with awe struck expressions
Slap some air into that baby me, please
Make me scream, make me cry out loud
What have I gotten myself into
Mom says tears streamed down my cheeks
Yet, she swears I was smiling too
Nothing’s changed now that I’m old and grey
I’m still just a spark igniting a flame
I still smile when I cry
At all the lies and the pain ...

Nobody’s perfect

What is November

Most of us should know that the fourth Thursday,
is called a Thanksgiving Day celebration.
The first Tuesday after the first Monday,
we elect the leaders of our nation.

Maybe you even know the first Sunday,
is when Daylight Savings comes to an end.
But did you know on November the first,
National Pomegranate Month begins.

Also, Native Heritage and Military Family Month,
Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, and COPD awareness.
How about NAN-O-WRI-MO or Pancreatic Cancer too,
we’ll throw in No Shave November just for fairness.

The first Wednesday is Eating Healthy Day,
the first Thursday is Man Makes Dinner.
The first Friday is Samoan Arbor Day,
and of course, Black Friday is always a winner.

Who can forget World Vegan Day,
or Coronation Day of the fifth Druk in Bhutan.
It’s Liberty Day in the Virgin Islands,
Self-Defense Forces Commemoration in Japan.

It is Veterans Day on the eleventh,
Pneumonia Day on the twelve.
Parfait day on the twenty-fifth,
if you don’t care about your health.

I could just go on and on listing them,
but just between me and you.
We’d still be here reading next November,
and we probably still would not be through.

Undemocratic Peace

Brother, you have no manifest destiny, except to treat your neighbor with love.
You say you fight for universal values, but who's to decide which values ought to
rule the Virgin Islands? Do you ever see the writing on the wall?
We fight Hitlers of our time with ferocious faith in democracy, but also with our
soft domino theory fashioning the world after our image, isn't that manifest arrogance? He who gives little in the end gives none at all. So be charitable with
your steadfast norms, that give you license to kill and to dominate, that fuel your expansionism.
Human folly resides in fake humility.
He who gives his body as a weapon for war is an imbecile who stands alone in the court of God, with the wrong steps of Abraham.

Canary Birds Are a Feature of Canary Islands

Canary birds are a feature of Canary Islands,
But in the Canary Islands, their is not so easy to found.
On the Virgin Islands are problems of similar kinds,
One can barely see any canaries flying around!

The First Annual Poetry Soup Convention Contest

I am not convinced where this Convention should be
I was thinking my house but the soup bowls are not free
Then I thought about Vegas but England would not agree
We could all go to Switzerland it’s a Neutral Country

Canada is to far for those who live in Japan let alone Hong Kong
Isle of Man has to many men and only one poet to meet
I would suggest Mexico but the wall is to tall to climb
Peru sounds nice but I heard they have mice

Sweden sounds good and it does sound pretty sweet
Turkey has to much stuffing and it won’t be thanksgiving
Singapore seems to be out of tune if it’s held in June
Netherlands is far, far away and it’s to close to Never land

United States won’t let anyone in
The only place left is
The Virgin Islands should be the choice, I wonder why?

Premium Member Soup Mail

I never know what fun I will have when I open my Soup Mail.
When I was young, it took a long time for a letter to arrive from
Canada or the Virgin Islands or Guam, but with Soup Mail here it
is in seconds.
What a fantastic way to keep in touch with new friends,
and to find out things I wish I had always known, but never did.
I have had so many good wishes, friendly advice, and happy thoughts
from this quick and happy mail program.
I cannot believe I accidentally clicked on it one day, when I was
horsing around and discovered it.
Instant pen pals.
Sending happy thoughts.
Making me feel loved.
Thank you my friends.
I adore you and your kind words
both secretly through SoupMail and
in the comment lines.
Soup Mail.
I will always think
of you fondly, and with
the warmest of regards.
You are my new communication
method of choice, today.

Like a Linear Guy

Like A Linear Guy

Just heard from Governor of
Virgin Islands on MSNBC. He
was once part of NYPD.

Looks like that he became a linear guy,
And only one thing at a time does try;
Not deceiving;
Help is receiving;
Hurricane hit so things are in short supply.

All day long on the boulevard
Fire escape I elude with attitude
Heat wave of summer's sting
A tepid breeze of spring
I sing of pastels and
Lemonade in the shade
Summer time haze and laze
Yes! Steel drum LABOR DAY PARADE
from the thick VIRGIN ISLANDS CRAZE

Next week major VALUABLE VALID
VACATION.
Realistic and simplistic.
This is the real world.
It's what you want it to be.

Could it be? TV is on.
Relaxing reacting
Satire implying
LIFE'S A BEACH.
BUT seriously if you do
Things out of anger.
Then life it self is a danger.

Despite all of that detail
This is the. Real world. Isn't it?
When you've had good rest
Greet the one in the MIRROR
Early morning stranger

Aah, information of VACATIONS
IS IN order.
White sands BLUE WATERS
Virgin islands!!
Or Hawaii , oh I'm smilin' ALOHA

Time for sand in my hair. PALM TREES!
Sandals on my feet . Me as free as nature in the BREEZE.
Hold on now. Full forge ahead.
THE EMPIRE IS DESIRED.
