Astronomical starlit night
Beaming , sparkling much delight
Candescent sunlight brightly shining
Divinity, a cloud with silver lining
Essence of respect for creation we must demand
Forever peace we must take a stand
Graciously accept God is the source
Heartfelt zest within life force
Inspiration lead with much flair
Joyously exhibit to others how much we care
Knowing that life is eternal
Love for self it is internal
Manifest all that truth delivers
Notably for all we are caregivers
Outwardly we all must shine
Protect all that remains divine
Quality of life is what we speak
Restitution of souls for all we seek
Salvaging Mother Earth a dream
Testimony of God's universal scheme
Utopia a figment of emotion?
Verify divine devotion
Wholesomely we share what thrills
Xenophobia our hearts it chills
Youngsters we pray will accept old wisdom
Zappiness within God's kingdom
Tye dye in July
60s shirt now revised
Bellbottom jeans hug backside
Long lean with dreamy eyes
Colorful fireworks in night sky
Red white blue patriotic pride
America so cool despite it’s lies
Many come find new life new tries
They’ll find joy they’ll find peach pain
Surprised by the voids and green games
How annoyed that money allows gains
Lady Liberty can see but can she change
Change the fuchsia fallacy creating a coup
Verify violet validity unveiling turquoise truth
Retiring old men fat of old money old dreams
Inspiring future generations keep persevering

Vultures verify vulnerable villages,
Vacuuming value, venerating vaults.
Voters vilified, voices vetoed,
Votes vanished, victories volatile.
Visible villains veil violations,
Virtuous veterans victimized via vanity.
Vast vaults versus vacant vessels,
Value vaporized, virtue vandalized.
Vice validates violence, violence validates vice,
Vicious vortex, vicious vice.
Victims vilified, victors vindicated,
Verdicts valued via victory.
Vassals versus visionaries,
Veins vibrating, voices volcanic.
Volition versus validation,
Vital versus virtual vocation.
Verify every version.
View every veil.
Value verification versus verbal virtue-signaling.
Vision without visibility becomes voluntary blindness.
Vengeance? Vacant.
Virtue? Variable.
Victory? Valueless without volition.
Value lives via voluntary vision,
Verses vibrating with visceral veracity.
Sometimes I feel the need to seek validation
I’m scared that your late response meant something more
Or you had a reason for pulling your hand away
It’s not because I don’t believe that you love me
But it’s that I don’t want you to be secretly hiding that you don’t want me anymore
It’s not that I don’t trust you
It’s that I just want to verify your feelings are still as they were 10 minutes ago
It’s not that I doubt your love either
It’s that I am not worthy of your love and yet you still love me
You continue to tell me that even though I am not enough for someone like you
I want to make sure you’re satisfied with your decision of choosing me when you could’ve had someone else

my front porch sounds like a bog
we are close to a marsh
mosquitoes verify this
bull frogs take up their violins
crawdads hum

the sky darkens
now there is silence
Life is a constant oscillation between the sharp horns of dilemmas.
~ Henry Louis Mencken
Who cares if I but die today
or a day after, for all I care,
There's nothing else to do or say
No thoughts to write or share…
Why would I linger on in despair?
So let me live my last days my way
To drink, dance, cheat, steal or lie,
You are welcome to join, if you may,
I'll feast and frolic, least worried to die
drinking wine, whiskey, rum and rye.
If I do none but good deeds and pray,
Will you guarantee heaven when I die?
I'll be honest and walk a straight way
On the words of the Lord I shall rely…
Will I then in Paradise blissfully lie?
Oh, I am aware about the afterlife,
I rather enjoy this life here and now
Neither heaven I crave nor eternal life
Unless you wanna go first somehow
Verify this place with joys did endow.
When you think God spoke to you.
Write down what he said to do.
Do you feel peace in your heart?
If so that's where you need to start.
To verify the voice you've heard.
Does it line up with God's word?
Now you have two things to compare.
The thought you have. The word that's there.
Does it say to you "Be Nice!"
Or is it pushing you to fight?
Is it something Jesus would do?
Then that is God speaking to you.
If your thought tell you to trust.
Just repeat to your self "I Must!"
Even though it doesn't make sense.
If there's loss He'll recompense!
There's no way that we can lose.
When it's anything about God we choose!
I have something good to say.
It happens to me everyday.
God talks to me.
Whenever things in my life go wrong.
I go somewhere to be alone.
So, God can talk to me.
In life there are times when I fear.
I stand still so I can hear.
God talk to me.
As I begin a brand new day.
I want his guidance so I say.
God talk to me.
When bills are high and money low.
Alone with Him is where I go
Because, I need God to talk to me.
When my wife and I are mad.
Times like that are truly sad.
I ask God to talk to me.
Back when my life went off the track.
I was having frequent panic attacks.
God talked to me.
Once I was laying in a hospital bed.
Wondering if I'd end up dead.
I was comforted because God talked to me.
Sometimes other voices can be heard.
I verify who it is by reading God's word.
Because God confirms his talks to me.
At times there are images that I see.
They seem to answer certain questions for me.
That is just God talking to me.
When I do or say things wrong.
Or go places I do not belong.
God will talk to me.
When all things in my life is right.
That's when I push God out of sight.
I guess that's why Jesus compares us to sheep!
Inner Tides and Outer Moons
Just like Earth and her moon
Our own body-mind fluxes
With and within the cycle of tides.
Up-down, strong-weak, high-low
We swell and contract in a rhythm
That effects if not controls us all.
Maybe it’s even what makes us care
About others and what others think of us
Since without the flux
We’d be more consistent
And so more confident, less needy
And thus more independent.
But at a certain point,
Maybe what we call mid-life
We should have learned that no matter
The flux is ours and not up to others
To verify, confirm or even acknowledge
Who we are, our successes and failures.
A body-mind in flux
After all is a mystery
In the process of becoming
But after at least fifty years of becoming
We should have become familiar enough
To know what is and what’s ahead.
At least to know
That there will always be
Change and more change,
And that the key to a mature
If not always happy body-mind
Is a measure of self reliance.

Among her photos were a special three
quite faded in their vintage blacks and grays.
A man and woman- one of a small child;
not all together- each of them alone.
I look for answers in their soulful eyes.
There's no expression to resemble ours
to say that they were kin from long ago.
Who are these strangers here with family?
No one to ask- I'm now the matriarch;
no clue to help identify their line.
No names or dates are offered on the back;
a mystery for sure in front of me.
These photos were important, for they're bound
with satin ribbon- not mixed with the rest.
I'm left to live with this unsettling find;
to never know why they are in this box.
My find was stored so very long ago-
left undisturbed until this special day.
Now still these strangers lay in mystic peace-
too late to verify why they rest here.
We seek them here ,
We seek them there,
These will-of-the wisps that quickly disappear,
Only to reappear again to whisper into a different ear,
These clever sods who can make anything appear real,
Unable to comprehend that it is in harm they deal.
I think we need a bigger net,
That has not been invented yet,
Maybe it is time to call in a vet.
And when they are finally caught,
Pay their room and board,
Until we be sure they are no longer bored,
And we have found a use for their skills,
That pays their bills,
Without the need to bend the ears of other to their will,
Til they no longer ask 'is it real',
And see no reason to look outside their window,
To verify they are watching the fall of actual snow.
Have we become mindless shoppers
Arriving home
Wondering
“what’s in that bag”
Pushing the “reorder” button
On a “saved” grocery list
Waiting for a “text”
To verify your existence.
The “nutrition” police
Have scanned your order
(aka know as request)
And altered said “request”.
Your compliance will be monitored
A bell will ring to remind you
When it is time to consume
The offerings of the day.
Please feel free to contact us
No one will respond
But your arrogance
Will be recorded.
Perhaps they mourn and long for a life mate,
one that does not end with merely a few dates.
One commandment says not to witness falsely or lie.
For that reason, I cannot say that doves really cry.
So, a sound is made for a loving romantic connection,
one that will be pure and wholesome without rejection.
Somewhat similar to the behavior of the human species,
except that we find ways and means that cause us to leave.
Tear-ducks and watery eyes do not a cry make,
but there could be 'mate-longings' causing heartaches.
It's not proven that they have tears of emotion,
but perhaps they have proof enough of their devotion.
Indeed, their relationship is lifelong with far less commotion.
Noah used a dove to verify the readiness of the earth's surface,
resulting in a new beginning for all life including the human race.
God used a dove to indicate the descent of the Holy Spirit from above.
