I seldom make promises --
man of my word, promises
leave no wiggle room…
and, most of us, at least
occasionally, like a good
wiggle
test our physical and
mental ranges for gyration --
In fact, on deeper analysis,
nothing really is ever stationary --
not time nor space
the closest thing to Perpetual-still
being the human heart, refusing
to give up on love, despite Love’s
independent nature~ its downright
heartbreaking propensity, to sniff
and wander, like a puppy, slipping
out the front door, unleashed….

Born a Hindu, I was taught
that Krishna is the true God
but Christians spoke of Jesus,
deeming Him to be their lord.
I wandered around the world,
flirting with myriad faiths
but mere words stirred not my soul,
lost amidst shadowy wraiths.
Iconic sages revered,
each scripted a path unique,
emulating not scriptures,
found what they set out to seek.
Thought a tool, which now constrains,
radiance of pristine soul,
so I plunged into silence,
in stillness becoming whole.
I am as I am, complete,
provided thoughts are rested,
whereupon God’s grace in-pours,
though for resolve we’re tested.
Sun above and earth below,
wafting breeze tickling my face,
there’s nothing I need to do,
to garner gifts of God’s grace.

I wrote this poem for a friend who is struggling with anxiety, depression and a host of life challenges.
So many people are struggling right now. Let's be kind and try to show compassion and understanding. Let's be gentle with each other.
Hugs, love and light.
Be stardust and magic unleashed

You're struggling
Feeling trapped in your anxiety
The dark cloak of depression
Has tried to smother your happiness
But we are not born for Darkness
We are born for the Light
Made from stardust and magic
We are miracles so bright
Your destiny is unfolding
You do have choices for your path
Let the sun wrap warmth around you
And blast away the Darkness
Feel the tightness leave your chest
Feel your soul soar on angel wings
Embrace your power and greatness
Be stardust and magic unleashed

Love has come knocking at my door
Opening my heart I prepare for more
Traversing the planet walking hand and hand
Travel to an exotic place needs to be planned
Our lips locked together in a sensuous kiss
A celestial experience not to be missed
Waves of passion flowing out towards you
Creating a journey of endless bliss you know what to do
Romantic thoughts float gently through my mind
You are the woman of my dreams so beautiful and kind
Looking back at me through those radiant eyes
A final embrace makes it harder to say goodbye

I can smell the closed blooms,
the blue pelt of clutched colors.
Standing at my garden door,
I sip moonlight.
My skin watches;
I am an ember in a wine vat.
In my belly
a coagulant of shadows
washes away stale years.
What is this feral shine?
I lift my face
through opening shoulder blades.
I'm a primal wolf
aware of its dreaming body,
nothing can name me.

The wind brushes her red mane wild and untamed, lifting her gown
A trance sweeps and sways her figure while bright orbs surround her
Transported to other realms where forestry scenes blend far away
A wistful lean body revealed thru a sheer dress, she is lifted into thin air
As she twirls around to celestial sounds, with spirits she dances free
In this pipe dream phantasy I imagined it were me, on this blissful day

Life's fury runs free,
Unleashing power with every decree.
The same force that drives us on
Is the same that can bear us undone.
As it never tires, nor does it sleep,
It can lift us up or land us down a steep.
It's a force that cannot be tamed.
And it's up to us to harness it or be blamed.
With avid strength comes smash ability.
And it's up to us to apply it for utility.
To channel it toward our dreams and goals,
Or let it consume us and bestow its toll.
So let us embrace life's fury with wide arms.
And apply it to create our charms.
Let us bear the most of every moment.
And let our lives be a testament.
For life's fury to continue to rage,
And it's up to us to turn the page.

a seismic shift deep beneath
powerful beyond belief
jars a long lost door
free at last, comes forth the beast
evil to the core
nostrils sifting through the wheat
aroused all the more,
wanders in the midnight hour,
hungry, seeking to devour

A time in history, August 30, 2005
Katrina unleashed her fury
Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama lost lives
Days pass, no help in sight, people become weary
Scenes of tragedy, despair, and suffering
Chaos abounds in the midst of the storm
People struggling for survival, the government buffering
States, cities, communities, neighborhoods torn
Katrina unleashed a colissal fear
With an amazing speed and power
Leaving death in its path, far and near
Swift rescues critical with each passing ghour
Quarter million people abruptly displaced
Multi billion dollar cleanup to be faced
Economies and jobs were lost
Katrina unleashed, what a cost
Dedicated to the people in New Orleans that lost the most

Cold night of winter forest asleep
Nature's spring miracles silently keep
Morbid air through skeletal trees
Chilly atmosphere of deep unease.
Decaying debris all that remains
Tree roots suggest dehydrated vein
Lifeforce of forest drained away
Underground waiting another day.
Nature orchestrates harmony
Seasonal change brings sanctuary
When bluebells raise beautiful heads
Forest's alive, no longer dead.
Green fern and moss carpet ground
Sleepy creatures shuffle around
Trees stretch old arthritic limbs
Buds unfurl and springtime sings.
Cycle of life nature's design
By this humanity is defined
In tune with season, we also rotate
Climate change horror~ is it too late?

Deep breath of pure mountain air
Away from chaos a moment rare
Radiant gorse with bright yellow flowers
Thriving on gentle Celtic showers.
Heather growing unrestrained
Amethyst glow over rocky terrain
Fragile primrose a pretty bloom
Charming wildflower dispelling gloom.
Down in meadow look carefully
Lady's Tresses with luck you'll see
Wild orchid, if found, will beguile
Moment of wonder to ponder awhile.
Shelf fungus growing on ancient tree
Really quite beautiful, you disagree?
Wild garlic rampant a favourite of mine
Nature unleashed - perfectly divine.

A bevy of censures,
to hit and strike back
Each written reprisal
to ward off attack
A mother-son warning,
once truant come true
Her words now my weapons
—to kill and renew

As the world’s nations fall when all were once strong
Like proud golden lions roaring unsure in the darkness
While gazelles and antelopes graze watchful in the night
Their money and power tremble challenging their might
All this labor, Russia, China, Brazil or the United States
Creating electrical, technical, chemical, military power
While the humanity around us stands summoned to the fight
Nearby the mountains, oceans and seas dare life as a right
The predators plan and scheme while others try to create
Works of kindness and goodness and sharing
Nature joins with coldness attacking either side uncaring
While at our arrogance the hyenas laugh in the moonlight
As the earth undoes our schemes with a deadly blight

Unleashed
And now fifty days since Salvation wrought
Heavenly Volley overflows their court.
Eleven bound in wood, fear, and doubt
Only Love can conjure the single way out.
Flame descends, incinerates what binds
Laps courage in timid heart, soul, and mind.
Like their Master they burst their tomb
Like their Master, their tomb a new womb.
Flames forge within; Love consumes all fear
The Good News molded to alien ear.
Heavenly arson hurled down to unite
One Bread, One Body, One Church, one CHRIST.
The fallen arise, Paradise within reach
Universe anew; Upper room unleashed.

I don’t have to slay the dark,
my verse—the wolf unleashed
I don’t have to court the devil,
my words a sword unsheathed
I can live beneath the sun,
or in hurricanes of fright
To sleep beneath a crescent moon
—my poetry to fight
(Villanova Pennsylvania: April, 2017)
