When Death Comes Unexpectedly

You had two months to live
No one told you, no one warned you
No one knew

I can’t look you in the eyes
I tried, a thousand times
But what once felt safe seemed savage
What once was certain proved damaged
The wreckage was drastic

Do I blame myself?

Or do I blame you?

You had two days to live
No one told you, no

Unexpectedly

Unexpectedly I grew old.
Yesterday I was seventeen
With all my hopes and silly dreams.
I was often told,
Do not grow old,
Old age is for the very brave.

But I didn’t listen, hadn’t a care,
Chose to ignore the odd grey hair,
Chose not to believe what harsh sunlight revealed,
Preferring candlelight and what it concealed.

Found ways to excuse the much slower

Unexpectedly

drifts cover citrus

Whatever arises

Appears as

What is happening..

Unexpectedly 

A thought arises

That I see with 

Unmistakable

Separation and edges.. 

Unexpectedly

A thought connecting

Several other thoughts

Arises as a story..

Unexpectedly

New thoughts of

Edgelessness and

Emptiness arise

As a paradox and are

Met with unease

Or resonance and

A feeling of

Freedom...

Useless Unreal Unexpectedly-

We're useless so upset untimely so unreal to us up unexpectedly

A Son Unexpectedly Passes

A SON UNEXPECTEDLY PASSES

an intention not explained,
of an action designed
to focus on a plight;
but never articulated why.
and as the bell tower clangours,
and olde bones neath shallow graves,
groan under weight
of another who comes before their time,
and many cried ‘Oh Why!’
an intention not explained,
of a son unexpectedly 
passes before his moment and in his prime,
and a family

She Stopped By Unexpectedly

I just saw you.
The other day. 
You were so nice. 
You looked so great. 

Such emotion 
when we two meet! 
You are so tough. 
You are so sweet. 

For a moment 
I saw you melt 
When I hugged you 
and love we felt. 

How do I tell 
These things inside? 
How to confess 
These things

Night Fell On Me Unexpectedly

Night fell on me unexpectedly
Like overwhelmed by lust lover
Hiding in shadows of my dreams
In faint moonlight emerging
From the top of eucalyptus trees
Like a gigantic night bird
Grabbing my hair and pulling me
Towards his body and landing 
On my lips with his airy wings
Enveloping me and devouring  
With fiery consuming passion
That I drowned in

I did not

Pain Unexpectedly

If those who are so mean to me
Were to pass unexpectedly
Would happiness come to me?

Would the pain and humiliation go away?
Would love and gentleness find its way,
To fill my soul to remove the grey?

Or would hurt and anger keeps it place
Inside my heart and on my face
Keeping me from love's kind embrace

I sat and watched quietly
   the shuffle of her feet,
   the forceful lean upon the walker
and I wondered –   how did it come to this?

Just yesterday she knew my name,
   last week she appeared to be herself
   and spoke clearly plans for the holidays
