Unexpectedly

Unexpectedly- and much too quick- I found myself wrapped in your arms. I should have known that I’d fall far too fast for your charms. You were too good to be true, this I knew. This I knew Because it was in my mind that I created you- A man with a gaze that could pierce through your heart And an unreal love for the same lyrical art. I thought I was safe- you existed only in my head- But imaginary people are lethal when they tread Through your dreams And nothing is ever exactly how it seems. My fantasy creation- I had but a week Until you decided to leave me alone. Now you won’t even speak (I am too weak). The idea of you was better unknown.
