Little Big Dot
My eyes are tired
Bloodshot
My heart is tired
Little Big Dot
Yesterday was hard
Tempted to slice
But my cat...
I'm running out of spite
Little Big Dot
Picked up a pen
Read a novel again
I am trying
Little Big Dot
My eyes are tired
Bloodshot
My heart is tired
Little Big Dot
Yesterday was hard
Tempted to slice
But my cat...
I'm running out of spite
Little Big Dot
Picked up a pen
Read a novel again
I am trying
Will it even matter......
if I try again
Should I decide to walk that path
I don’t know where to begin
It seems I’ve been trying
To run away for so long
I don’t know how to stop myself
Or if I still belong
But I do know if I don’t start trying
I’m going to lose it all
And there’ll be no recovering
From that far of a fall
So as I stand here in this moment
Wondering what to do
The only thing I’m sure of
Is to keep my eyes on you
You are my sole foundation
The one I’ve counted on
So I hope I get it right
Before this chance is gone

Trying to make One Dollar out of 15 Cents
I stretch pennies like they're doing y.oga,
Flip nickels like a circus act, coupons like it's hand-to-hand scrimmage.
And pray over price tags like scriptures.
My wallet stays demure, my hustle stays loud-
Broke- girl alchemy in flow turning crumbs in
Whole-meal miracles til my cents holler for mercy.
When we give life, to those things, that only bring death,
then we are truly, killing our life’s breath.
It turns our hearts, toward the darkness, you see,
when with our words, we bring forth misery,
We then destroy, our own hearts, as we live,
as we are judged by others, in what we give.
If we don’t change, the way we live you see,
then this life, will change you and me.
Deeper and deeper, in despair we go,
when, in this life style, we choose to flow.
Trying to live, and never understanding, how or why,
when we speak those things, that only bring death, we also begin to die.
Life or death, is set in front of us you see,
those things we speak, come forth to be.
Begin to speak only words, that brings forth life,
and in our hearts, the truth, will overcome the strife.
The little frog hopped on a
slippery stone,
He sat in the sun all
completely alone,
Then splashed in the water to
find his way home.
Kindergarten mastering fun and games.
Time to focus on drawing pretty pictures.
Mom and Dad are proud.

If I said this is me trying,
If I told you that
Isolation was becoming
More of a destination than an action,
Would it be enough for you?
I know I’m too much,
Not enough to fit the mold that I once laid
Perfectly in,
I know I failed to flourish,
I know I faltered.
I’m sorry.
I learned to swim before I could run,
Because when you spend your whole life drowning,
Floating becomes survival.
The pavement hurt to fall on,
But at least I could patch myself up, heal.
The water takes everything.
It’s surround sound,
Sensory deprivation,
My lungs fill with the density,
And I sink deeper and deeper,
And I finally understand that it’s got me,
The darkness that doesn’t quite dissolve.
A lingering,
A taint.
I’ve learned to live with it,
I can’t remember a time it wasn’t in me,
But I can feel the level rising,
It’s consuming my entirety.
Each and every time I think it’s getting lighter,
The pressure doubles
And I feel myself condensing into nothingness.
I thought I could leave this all behind,
Until I finally understood,
This depth,
This ocean,
There will be no escape.
Trying to measure
the worth of meaning
and value of me
without you
is as useless
of a venture
as a life
without
you.
Fewer clarities
have ever
occurred to me.
Hey, isn't it crazy?
I cried and cried and lost myself
Only for the hope of finding you.
But guess I needed to know that-
what is lost can be found
but what we hide from stays unfound
I fell onto the floor
I looked in the mirror
I kept asking to the ghost
Who are you?
Who are you without him?
The answer was a roll of tears
Hell-I could not recognize the ghost.
Was it a play to you?
Was it a role u aced?
Coz I got a hundred
for the miserable woman I played.
But now I leave the stage
as the wretched woman is dead
She is free now
Free to rise above the cage.
Did it pain you?
Did it hurt you?
Did it trouble you
to go through so much?
As lying with a smile
is a hell of a task.
And you aced that task with grace.
I tore myself apart,
I let myself down.
But you will know better
as you saw me go down.
Was I your trophy or
was I your job?
Did all your troubles go in vain
or did it satisfy you in the end?
my friends know i don’t mean when i wave it off and say that i’m just tired
it’s not like i got any sleep, but that’s not the reason i’ve been bitter
they always knew me to be sweeter
it’s been almost four weeks since you last called,
at 9:47, i even memorized the time
do you remember it the same way that i do?
does your mind keep replaying it for you too?
it stings because i know that i could never picture anything past you and i
not like i even bothered trying,
i didn’t, that’s why i’m barely getting past this
do you remember me like i do you?
do you cry before going to bed too?
feels like i’m talking to a stranger, but i memorized your flavor
i know you cry with movies and babysit for your neighbor
do you tell her that you love her voice?
does she believe you like i did three weeks ago?
my friends know that you’re the reason why i’m tired, you keep me up all night,
you consume me without even trying
how is it possible that you could just survive me?
instead of sleeping i toss and turn at night and my friends have started thinking it’s your fault
yeah, they know that i’ve been bitter
they always thought that i was sweeter
Trying to speak, ever untold !
Urge from the core of heart,
but reticent thoughts turning cold.
Wished not to stay apart !
But speech sank in silence :
Soliloquy to sense.,
Desires in opulence
Voice not to pick
Trying to speak !
Everybody's trying to be nice
By treating everybody
The same
We don't put anybody down
That is not right
That will only upset
Then
We don't want to see
Than getting upset
We all need to speak up
When somebody hurt us
Also we need to respect each other's
Race
And religion
Some of us are black
Other's are white
We have our style of clothes
That we have chosen to wear
We all have our own hair style
Some people wear there hair long
Others wear it short
None of us are rich
We are very poor
When it comes to money
There is no desperation in trying.
You only long for the warmth
of the one who once held you in your sleep.
Arms that felt like a lullaby.
A touch that whispered, you’re safe.
It’s not desperation.
It’s love shaped by pain.
