Writing on the Internet
Before the internet
Killed off
The small press
He often sent poetry around
And was thrilled
To see his work
Printed on paper.
A book to collect.
Poetry/short stories
Are not the same
Published on a computer.
The work disappears
In the vast maze
Never to be seen again.
When he switches off
The computer
It is gone
Like it never existed
What is left
Is a blank screen
that needs dusting.
You don't know me
It's only a facade that you see
We have never met before
I may be someone you abhor
I may have habits that you hate
Not a woman you'd choose to mate
These thoughts are very foreign to me
I've lived in a different time you see
When I was young, so long ago
Boys and girls took time to know
Each other as friends
Sometimes romance blossomed in the end
Have we become more knowledgeable, with the use of technology,
Have we opened our minds,to learn more about our history, human psychology,or the findings from palaeontology,
Have we used the knowledge to gain more wisdom,so we can better prepare for the future or find the source of our spirituality,
Or have we be blinded like the others, social media hype,mix-ups,date sites, ect, ect, killing our mentality,
The internet is a source of information,so much there to learn,
But some of us waste hours,so much time to burn,
Wise up,don't be the fish that got caught IN-THE-NET,
Be the mind that elevates, step by step, wisely using the IN-TER-NET...
falling in love is good, but not if there is no one
there to catch you

Computer catfish anglers
Are out phising every second, day and night
Trawling the world wide web with baited hook
For innocent victims to catch
Internet sites such as Facebook and Twitter
Supply them with constant schools of fish
How easily they reel in trusting people with their deception
Can you be one hundred percent certain
A person behind the computer screen is for real?
Trolls don’t live under the bridge like in fairy tales
Fake profiles, false pictures and fraudulent names
Intended to disguise who they really are
Sadly some victims of their abuse resort to suicide
Hope these evil ‘catfish’ get caught and end up in court

When the net is down, we stare blankly at the wall
We consider hanging out at the food court in the mall
Obsessed is a word that is often used
Nothing to do but go for a snooze
Life without the net is absolutely no life at all

Even when the blade was thrust
The spirit inside was left untouched
But the flesh was torn away
The flesh was led astray
But as the blades’ edge cut through
Discerning what was lie
And what was true
The hidden darkness fled
Before the light that bled
And as the truth shone through
The cloudy sky turned brightly blue
Revealing yet another day
Another path
Another way
And as the birds flew up high
The lie itself was led to die
And freedom flew up to its peak
Torn flesh
In crow’s black beak
This is a message to these girls on the ‘net:
You are just lucky I haven’t met you yet.
I’m on to your games – I’m well aware;
Let me warn you, I’m not easy to scare.
(Go ahead and flirt with him)
Type up your cutesy comments,
All those desperate texts? I hope they’re sent.
Call him a hundred times and two more;
Leave enough voicemails to make your voice sore.
(Show him how desperate you really are.)
He’s mine now – all mine – so you better get a hint.
I’m getting really tired of this stupid stint.
Go find a life; go find a boy in reality.
It’s not my fault your heart has been a causality.
My boyfriend’s “cute”, my boyfriend’s “deep.”
Man, do you really think he’s that neat?
He’s a good listener – I know – makes you feel like you’re something.
Let me inform you: you are nothing.
I'll remind you again, he loves me
And I’m the only girl he wants to see.
Your words mean absolutely nothing to him.
So stop it … he’s not interested.
Juicy hamburger, on bun
Covered with onion
In basket of crispy fries.
Slice of tomato,
Slathered with mayo.
Piping hot,
Yummm!
