The Net

Even when the blade was thrust
The spirit inside was left untouched
But the flesh was torn away
The flesh was led astray
But as the blades’ edge cut through
Discerning what was lie
And what was true
The hidden darkness fled
Before the light that bled

And as the truth shone through
The cloudy sky turned brightly blue
Revealing yet another day
Another path
Another way

And as the birds flew up high
The lie itself was led to die
And freedom flew up to its peak
Torn flesh
In crow’s black beak
