Elated illusions laugh at my reason
Creations of my mind erase dark shadows
I care I search for the joy in each season
Beauties this awesome only God can compose
His light glistens in the stars, the sun, the moon
Who floods our souls with dreams we never oppose
Life, at times, seems more like a funny cartoon
Than moments we’ve spent bringing our love to life
Time’s more crucial than a lazy afternoon
Even though we acknowledge a bit of strife
Our prayers are answered by stirrings of grace
Inspirations some don’t find until midlife
Rustling winds with dancing leaves I often face
Just when I feel like this life I can’t embrace
Please, never take a toddler to the store.
But if you do, you’ll find that I am right.
Your sanity will not endure the chore.
The struggle that ensues is no fair fight,
'cause they are armed with cuteness and a scream,
which trump your reason, bribery, and might.
The lollipop-balloon plan? That’s your scheme?
Won’t even get you halfway through your list!
You’ll only be a pawn in their regime.
They reign with chubby, dimpled, iron fists!
And though you threaten, swear and stomp the floor,
still you will have to do all they insist!
Oh, I beg you, I plead, and I implore …
Don't ever take a toddler to the store!

Buxom blonde, eyelashes long
Cabaret singer
Belting out a bawdy song
She’s a dead ringer
Pure sex too
For 50’s lounge singer
Sensual boobs, wig so thick
My most calm boy
Made up in drag, an easy trick
Full of easy joy,
So whoop-dee-doo
And ships ahoy!
Surprising he,
Someone says “you look rather whorish”,
Delighting me
I hate to be peevish or boorish,
But this is drag life in a flourish….

Feeling a rumbling deep in my gut
I'm not quite sure what that’s all about
as I clench the sphincter in my butt.
Something rank is trying to get out
and based upon my bloated bowel
it's going to succeed; I've no doubt.
I might need to throw in the towel
as past experiences affirm
and yet, I fear its stench could be foul.
An internal pressure makes me squirm
and I’m counting down to the blastoff
when this gassy build-up comes to term.
There is no way I can put this off
and yet, to concede may not be smart
even when it’s disguised, with a cough.
What if it turns out it's not a fart,
but its embarrassing counterpart?

Darkness you have a funny way of shading the light
colour coding from such a pit spinning the web of deceit
clouds within suffering victims cry to the heaven's
Shame on such corrupt souls poisoned by lies
twisting truth shows bad manners condemning justice
to speak correctly false faced inside forked tongues
Where the poor are heavily burdened inside such greed
values no longer hold the ground to address this shift backwards
principles are darned from the fabric sewn into morality
Backwards thinking science crosses a great divide in society
slavery is rising fast where the toils of labour have been reduced
to crusts little crumbs are being swept away like worthless pieces of dust
My mama said to get a man,
I first must prove myself a cook.
I could not feed him from a can.
I tried to learn how from a book
And sought to make a chocolate cake.
I didn't care how long it took.
I set the oven high to bake
Then sat to watch my favorite soap
And to plan the menu I would make.
The cake was burned without a hope.
It was a cheerless sight to see,
The smoke so thick I had to grope.
Since it seems a chef I'll never be,
I'll find a man to who cooks for me.
Has anyone seen my ding a ling?
You wouldn’t dare ask “what is it”.
I will just say it’s the cutest thing.
It must be a cousin of my widget,
about which my wife often digs.
It hasn’t a name, only a digit.
I also have some thing-a-ma-jigs
that attach to fishing lures, you know.
My heart sings making world famous rigs.
While pointing my do hickey just so
I turn on my color gizmo, git go.
