Never Take a Toddler To the Store

Please, never take a toddler to the store. But if you do, you’ll find that I am right. Your sanity will not endure the chore. The struggle that ensues is no fair fight, 'cause they are armed with cuteness and a scream, which trump your reason, bribery, and might. The lollipop-balloon plan? That’s your scheme? Won’t even get you halfway through your list! You’ll only be a pawn in their regime. They reign with chubby, dimpled, iron fists! And though you threaten, swear and stomp the floor, still you will have to do all they insist! Oh, I beg you, I plead, and I implore … Don't ever take a toddler to the store! yep, just asking for trouble. I may have mentioned my 3 year old granddaughter... apple of my eye. I am just defenseless against her charms... It's so hard to keep up with those little ones with all that energy and no sense of danger! Thank you for your visit! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Wonderful! Great entry in the contest, and so, so, so true! When you think about it, the store is like one massive TV commercial displaying reams of goodies---except in the store they can all be purchased NOW. So, you're 100% right. Love this poem. ~ gw

My own children were never a problem, but over the passed 50-years, one can't help but notice the behaviour of children in stores - and in public - is quite unacceptable. Parents need to parents, not "friends"! Good luck! Aloha! Rico

As a grandma I have learned that I don’t have the back or speed to risk the store with my grand baby. It was much easier with my own children
