A poet who fishes, wishes for tight lines
with fish hooked, caught and ready to play.
The poet wishes for taut-line inspiration
while whiling away the hours of solitude
in the quiet peaceful wilderness
waiting for a nibble or bite.
For there can be no better place to go
and no time better spent,
by a poet who fishes,
than to enjoy the wait a while,
to catch fish and words,
with lines tight and taut.
I thought
And overthought
…thought again
The thought
…was not the thought
That it had been
I pondered it
….and thought
…Why did I have that thought
…And when
Grass is a taut crew;
They stand at attention
As soldiers do
With orders from the sun -
Never having thoughts
That their purpose is trite
Or any nagging doubts
Or need of strife.
How admirable their rank -
How exemplary their queue -
I whispered to one blade -
Living as they do.
Words come , words go
My thoughts tonight as taut as rope
Just when the serein makes its final bow
In cold waters my feet i soak
As i walk down the gateways of the mind
Where i am engulfed by grief and serenity
I never saw you leave as if i was blind
And the thought of it brought my heart calamity
Taut humming spine, magnetic pull
Bindu chakra brightens
With strange enigmatic joy full
Bliss vibration heightens
Elixir divine drips
Rapture attention grips
Bringing smile to our lips
Bliss gift divine

The world is in such disarray,
the congregation goes astray
but shepherds do jack squat*.
Don’t mind it, shepherd, take a break
for exercises: it will make
your buttocks smooth and taut.
