Katsushige Mizuno
Is too awesome for just one lord, you know
For 15 years lived as a wanderer
Moving on from one liege to another

His father's serf once tattled on his misconduct
So he drew his sword upon the man and struck
Dad got sick of his wild displays
He swiftly sent the youth away
But neither scorn nor exile can put a hamper on his pluck

Though he at last went home and made up with dad
Who shortly died; that made him his family's head
Some people say that a rolling stone gathers no moss
But settling down and setting roots is no great loss

Premium MemberWhen I Tattled on Ana

An undisciplined terrible tot,
Ana did awful things quite a lot.
Uncle Bob she did kick.
I told Dad. With a stick,
a good spanking my sis at last got!

Premium MemberPersonal Demons

I’m retired now. These days I’ve got it made.
I sit on my porch and drink lemonade.
You will never see my nerves get rattled,
Or my disposition become embattled,
No, not even if my conscience tattled.
With these concerns, I am never saddled.
My personal assistant writes the screamin’s
Of my staff of personal inner demons.

Premium MemberPastoral

By the shore, with effortless strokes, he paddled.
On the bank, a pasture with holstein cattle -
Sitting there, up high on the wooden seat, he
        lazily dabbled.

Softly crept the coyote, prepped for battle.
Warmed by sun, a little one lagged to tackle
dandelions, all nestled in the clover,
        grazing and addled.

Overhead, a mockingbird spied the rabble,
saw the calf who from the herd had now straggled.
Shrieking then, she dived at the rascal, oh so
        noisily tattled.

Haven't tried a sapphic stanza before - pretty picky placement of feet
in a 4-line stanza. Not sure this hits very well, but as always, try
and try again!

Dactyl, trochee

Premium MemberA Smidgeon Too Much Rum

shhhh...please don't tell Jan I tattled on her.

Did you hear 'bout Jan's custard a-la-plum
While making it she drank far too much rum
while on her wobbly legs
put mustard in the eggs
It was wretched and tasted like pond scum

Her hubby asked her for a large serving
But the rum made Jan wiggle while swerving
'Twas a messy mishap
She dropped it on his lap
Jan laughed but hubby found it unnerving

He asked why she thought that was so funny
Jan sipped more rum then said, "Sorry, honey"
She sat upon the floor
and drank a few gulps more
then slurred, "It wath a smidgeon too runny"

THIS IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY

This is all I have to say
Catsup on the garden hose
Too small bifocal's on your nose
A checker board this more than square
A faint pink blue ribbon in her hair
A dog that wags it's tail so variously
A new born babe in a nursery
A breathe of flesh air
A construction worker hammer, saw, and square
User pouring out like rain
Robins and sparrows out to sing
A basketball rim that holds kites
A robber stealing your watch and wallet
A cat that has no claws
An old aged person who snores
A tattled loaf of new bread
This is the just of what I said
And by the way
This is all I have to say

Premium MemberThe Saddle-Strapped Cattle

Behold, dear reader, a bit about a boy and his battle,
He fought for his family, his friends and all of Earth's cattle,
His world was straddled by what rattled atop some saddle,
Bound all beneath to bare all the brunt as do stone staddles.
A bishop, the boy saw these binds that (most) others could not,
And Earth's saddle-strapped cattle knew not for what he fought.
Nor did the sad saddle-strapped cattle know they've been made chattel,
How pitiful, this cattle, prattling a brattle beneath their straddled saddles.
Paddled, the cattle that dillied and daddled, flacid tails tattled tales told to the rattles,
Shaken by choking yokes shapen snake coils: the saddles that straps our cattle for straddle.
Though choked by the coils of a cobra's yoke,
The cattle knew not of this knotted knit cloak.
For they felt free as does a flame from its smoke,
Woken broke from the womb and broke till they croak.
These broke choked bloaks believe they alone provoke,
Whether or not they choke or invoke luck by the stroke.
They poke fellow folk with spoken tales that do not,
Evoke visions as to for why for this joke should be fought.

A Funny War

The cattle-rearer had shown his mettle by fighting in the battle, but weary as he was, drank from his kettle and with his comrades he tattled and tattled, while at once the chariot-wheels rattled, and as yet the strife was not settled, that cattle-rearer got confused a little, threw out his bottle, but could do nothing but tattled and tattled with his chattels.

Numbers

Nineteen nosey newts nudged nasty nautical nannies
Eighteen eager ermines excitedly edged everyone’s ego
Seventeen sacred slugs sat sideways searching seagulls
Sixteen slippery snails slid southwards sipping sangria
Fifteen flowery foxes fell forward fondling fuchsias
Fourteen frantic fleas froze fighting frightening fanatics
Twelve twiddling tigers told thirteen tasteless tales
Eleven elderly elephants embellished eighteen ebony earrings
Ten terrified tardy ticks tricked two thirsty Turkish tramps
Nine naughty nasal know-it-alls knew nothing nearing knowledge
Eight elastic earthworms echoed eighty edgy Egyptians
Seven solemn snakes slithered slowly sensing sunshine
Six sassy silk-moths sceptically squished spinach selfishly
Five funny fatties feared following fancy French fashion
Four fantastic faithful Finnish flies faked famous farcical facelifts
Three tenacious terriers thrilled twelve tipsy throbbing thespians
Two tireless Tanzanian tapirs tittle tattled tirelessly throughout Tuesday
One obedient oily octopus offered obnoxious orangutans oranges outrageously

Premium MemberSurviv Or

A Surviv---or

I know how it feels to be unwanted
ignored, made fun of and at times taunted
beat up, spit on, embarrassed and disgraced
abandoned betrayed and things thrown in my face
denied, discouraged, used, then abused
So before you say a word, think twice
'Cause I have nothing left to lose !

I've been disappointed, lied too
and falsely accused
Tattled on, rattled, 'till
I was made to feel blue
disrespected, disregarded
and plan old DISSED it true
and I promise never ever to
do these things to you

I've been jaded and spaded
and without reason hated
picked-on, laughed at
despised and denied
walked on, pushed around
held in sheer contempt
made to feel alone
most every where I've went

It wasn't at all easy, to suffer all this crap
each time they beat me down
some how I made it back
So, NEVER feel alone
don't let them get to you
and don't become like them
and act the way they do
just standup tall and strong
with a smile and with grace
and tell your friends and family
"Get The Hell Out Of My Face"

Daniel's Answer To the King, Briton Riviere

Gov'ners were jealous and zealous the satraps -
One had received uncalled-for promotion.
With design to malign, these guys enacted
a divine trap for this fella's devotions.

"Accept this new law," they said, "Except to you,
O Great King, no petitions can be uttered."
A crusade to degrade, they watched Dan's window,
As he stepped up and prayed, boldly un-shuttered.

Their wily ruse worked and while he was kneeling,
they trotted off to the king and tattled.
Daniel was content to be pent up with lions,
but King Darius spent the night rattled.

Unarmed and unharmed, Dan stayed with the beasts.
In the morning, the king raced to the hole.
The lions in a daze; sudden praise he spoke,
"I'm amazed, God has delivered you whole."

Hear futile complaints among brutal beasts;
Officials are punished with fear and trembling.
They take a fair turn in the lair as ordered
God takes care of revenge for dissembling.

(dissembling means misleading)

based on the account in Daniel 6:1-24
to accompany the painting by Briton Riviere, Daniel's Answer to the King,
it seems Daniel continues to pray to his God inside the lion's den

Second Coming

Fusillade! The thunder throbbed merrily
As the grassy hay in the stable clamped the baby lad
Involuntarily, intoxicated tears started running mad
Huge hand stroke beard, eyes lashes blushed wearily.

Rambling on tarragon path with lively pasture
Glaring, jealous eyes creep-ed, must be the son of the herdsman,
Who tickled the plants, poked the animals and sent obloquy to man
They engraved a cave, o! Capture that creature.

He must not stay, a mutant from the pit of sea
Mistrial, voices rattled, real alien some tittle-tattled,
Shackles raised, skin bruised, gallows set, parents fled,
Thunder scared, cloud dark and disdain, lightening too blind to see.

Just infusion, the choric birds racked bitterly,
   He will be back, majestically.

The Last

When the Last milkman
Puts the last
Quart of milk
In the last milkbox,

And the last
General Practitioner
Makes the last
house call

And the last
mousetrap
is invented,

The last sea
 is crossed
The last hope
 is lost

And the last
human thought
has faded
Into eternity

The last shot
has been fired

The last
death rattle
Rattled

The last
secret tattled

The last martini
served

My love
will still last
My heart
will still
hold fast

For the
shadow
Eternity
does cast
Has met
it's match
at last.
