Unplugged

Don't get me wrong
the Olympic men's 50m butterfly
was going along swimmingly strong
but I wonder why
or was it a blunder
when the metaphorical rug
was pulled out from under
by some infernal fool
who removed the plug
from the bottom of the pool
while down the water went
was it hell-bent or heaven-sent
as what was to be gained
when after it drained
puzzled spectators and judges
were all which remained

Premium MemberHere's To Love

Everyone is forever searching for love
Some find it, then lose it, for some it lasts a lifetime
They are the fortunate ones waking up each morning
Knowing that special person will always be there

Through all that life has to offer
Rainy days as well as those bright sun filled days
When it feels like absolutely nothing
Will ever bring us down from our high

I often feel these wonderful days
Days of love, happiness, and quiet contentment
Nothing will ever equal them
They make up for all the days of turmoil and strife

I am a very loving, passionate man
Overly sensitive at times but that's not a bad way to be
If you can tolerate my constant harping on love
Then we will definitely get along swimmingly

They say it makes the world go around
Sure don't think a truer phrase has ever been uttered!

Doing Swimmingly

I a woman of sixty and seven have come to realize
There is more here going on than is evident to the eyes

What is allowed by ego to filter through our defences
Is not the sum total registered by our senses

As we are able to carry the weight like a mother doting
Incrementally it sifts it through without sugar coating

We see what we are ready to see unedited without bias
No matter the seas that lay ahead we say in confidence Try Us

Last Friday week I learned to swim after being the banker for years
Finding I'm hyped to name and address all my other fears

I want to live life conscientiously enslaved to nothing but God
The trainers are off on my way giving my governess a nod

Hey, diddle, diddle,
    what’s that in the middle?
A girl doesn't have
    something there.

The only retort
    to this travesty, sport:
testosterone levels
    are "fair"!

Premium MemberUpside Down, Inside Out

Hummingbird hardly heard,
airily, merrily
extraordinarily
effortless floating, near
weightless transparency,
seemingly without the
slightest of care.

Urgent persistency,
terribly panicky,
frenzied and frantic, she's
burning through energy
rapidly, hungrily;
precise machinery
executes there.

Mallard so lazily,
buoyantly floating on
glassy flat waters, he
glides on the surface, and
wanders unhurriedly,
conveying contentment,
trivial feat.

Feet like a bicycle
furious pedaling,
splendidly, swimmingly,
chasing and fishing, he's
hungrily hunting and
ready to eat.

Premium MemberAfternoon Went Swimmingly

To the beach I went one hot, hot day,
In search of the cooling ice blue froth!
Refreshment beckoned in the sea spray,
And I lingered until skies turned mauve.

In search of the cooling ice blue froth,
I took a sunshine stroll to the beach,
And I lingered until skies turned mauve.
Often heart's desires are within reach.

I took a sunshine stroll to the beach.
The birds all sang of wild summertime!
Often heart's desires are within reach.
Happy hours bloom throughout a lifetime.

The birds all sang of wild summertime,
Refreshment beckoned in the sea spray.
Happy hours bloom throughout a lifetime,
To the beach I went one hot, hot day.

black and white fish cap
swimmingly innocent
1950’s photograph

grayscale the norm
lovely beauty
lipstick probably red

appears black
1950’s ad
brimming with bubbles

colorized would ruin it
a sliver of essence
capturing the honesty of the 50’s

Premium MemberA Love Like Ours

Swimmingly
        that's how we flow.
                We're so
               easygoing.
         Love is good to us!
               I love you
                  just as
             much as you
                 love me.
                  Fluidly,
             we flow just...
     like a mountain stream;
      deeper than the ocean
                      is...
           a love like ours!

Protestang

Didn't you not go to me?

How did I seethe, because an elongation of an entanglement is the alter-alto as the Omega cake..?

So swimmingly
I'm finishing the date,

I'm even allowed to procreate,

say that today as we all wander in the phase,
the glistening light is a connector of the ways...

48 equations away...

One more long lasting stay,

I am trapping the animals and characterizing,

you upped the anti with troubling enrapturing!

You even trampled the past in THE!!!

Sometimes I sweat over the gloat and the capturing,

sometimes I'm the boat that is rafting the very temperament I haven't opportunely been the camp in the.

Son of a Beach

thinking only we
being human but
not humane
were the
only

species able to do
what some say is
the unspeakable
but now i know
because I've

heard the songs
sung knowing
now why they
sound so sad
as the words

and the whales
travel across
the ocean
blue to
tell

all that they no
longer want to
splish splash
take a bath
but wail

their swimmingly
goodbyes by
committing
suicide by
beach

The Left and the Right Hand

The left hand and the right hand
Know exactly who they are
No body in-between them
Can keep these hands apart

With their favorite activity
Being generally the clap
And when they get tired of that
They rest folded in a lap

Otherwise they're into mischief
As idle hands will do
Twirling thumbs can be fun
But not for these two

When the left decides to rest
And the right hand goes to think
It finds itself a chiseled chin
Then hangs out underneath

Where it comes up with 10 point plans
To help each other out
5 for the left 5 for the right
So neither does lose count

Number 1 mainly on the list
Is to continue to strong arm
And keep up with the body building
Before their body buys the farm

After that they continue with
Their intricate 10 point plan
Which is going quite swimmingly
Between the left and the right hand
