Sweet Talk Poems | Examples

no sweet talk

you will always be welcome
in our home as a friend
but that's where the story ends
you had nine years to know how you feel
so dont try to catch me now like a fish pulling in on a reel
you had every chance and every oppertunity too
so now it will always be friendship that i can offer you
no sweet talking
trying to win me over
that boat has already sailed
trying to sweet talk me
since your rent has become more dear
you chat about moving
no sweet talking
if you move home am sorry that it wont be here
am happy now being left on the shelf
am very independant
and with Gods help
i can take care of myself.
i work hard
then for my two adult children
i care for every day
now this is the way it will stay.

SWEET TALK WAS SOUR IN MY HOUSE

The lemonade I drink is sour,
reminds me of my childhood,

the sugar was not spilled before my feet,
while I was conquering the barren land of life -
on which I was walking,

mom and dad say the sweet life is expensive,
but we always had sugar in the kitchen vitrine,
I guess for guests, what do I know.

Come to think of it, this lemonade is full of sugar.

No More To Try Again

NO MORE TO TRY AGAIN
By Tapiwa N. Maseko

At first my heart was filled with every sweet-talk
It was so prompted in a love walk
Because of your immaculate face
That propelled many people including I, myself to be in a love race
I didn’t know that your heart is a temporally love place
If I knew at first time in your love I couldn’t prance.

No more to try again
Because it left me in great pain
It perished everything good from your heart I did gain
I didn’t understand when your love stated to wane
The question which was hovering in my mind was “Since when?”

Our love was so luminous which could surpass the light that sun brings
Our love was so fly then why did you cut its wings
Because yours withered like a leaf
I have known that love is just a myth

I was thinking that it was during “Golden age” of our love
But it was the same year your love I started to starve.
It was a tragedy of life
To lose somebody who was to be my wife
Hence I agree to this saying
“Girls have to be loved but not trusted because for trust is
Only word which ought to be found in the vocabulary but
Not in the heart of a person.
I can claim
No more that I will try again.

She walked into the ice cream parlor and took a seat,
a date on February 14th, her secret admirer to meet,
she used to think Valentine's Day was silly and stupid,
until those ridiculous thoughts were shot down by Cupid.

The door opened and there he was, handsome and tall,
he sat down, didn't speak, but his dark eyes said it all,
instead of poetry, he gave her a candy conversation heart,
a cute little gesture just to get the romance to start.

She fell hard for his sweet talk like you wouldn't believe,
her shyness had disappeared, and it, she could not retrieve,
completely blinded by love that she could no longer see,
when he handed her another and the sweet heart said, KISS ME.

Grabbing more, she threw out the sour heart that said, NO WAY,
in the past she might have kept that one, but not today,
the next candy heart read, BE MINE, then it broke in two,
so they shared it, and the next one which said, I LOVE U.

Sweet-Talk From Old Salt

Once there was a man called Mike & Irk
got his sweetheart “sweet tooth” pop rocks,
Bon-bon, candy, lollipop, toffee
Wonka laffy taffy cherry
Bloody how could the “old salt” indulge in sweet-talk?

Words of hope and kindness taste of honey

                                              Sweet to the listener's ear

                                            They soothe a wounded heart

"I've loved thee since I first saw thee as an adorable egg in thy nest!
Wouldst that thee would deign to marry me and put my pining heart at rest!
I hold thy delicate talon in my beak awaiting with bated breath,
For thine answer to my plea to be my beloved until parted by death!"

"All that I have to offer thee is a cozy nest in yon apple tree,
Safe from prowling cats and mean little kids to raise a family!
Please give me thy answer ere the sun sinks slowly in the west,
That I may begin to build thy dream home, thy cozy little nest!"
