Stars

The moon was bright when we were stargazing.
I thought the stars were haphazardly scattered across the sky.

You didn’t.

You thought they were intentionally placed in every space.

I liked the idea of them being thrown like seeds and you liked the idea of them being carefully set.

So, we agreed to disagree.

Now the moon isn’t so bright.

Celestial whispers paint the fabric of the dark expanse,
stars the glitter on Christmas baubles
merry and festive;
the glitter that spreads far,
dusting every corner yet is minded by no-one.

In the moon's basking glow
each speck pulses brilliantly.
In the cosmic ballad
they hum their timeless glory.
In their observant rays
a stargazer beholds their own story.

Among the constellations, a painting unfolds
a battle

Glittering stars above,
hidden in the daytime,
finally in sight.
i glimpse them
clear against the shadowy night sky
each sparkling its unqiue tale,
the mystery of a thousand worlds untold,
waiting for us to unravel its distant veil.
Stargazing, the art of the night sky.

Stargazing By Water Surface

Stars reflecting upon the clearest surface of water. 
I think that is how the Mayans taught each astrologer.
Guess that's how everyone in the empire was: looking up, out there.

Furtive moon, modest stars

Blazing hot days, 40 degrees Celsius
Give way to ancient ways, in the stars
Only a few tonight (why?) And Venus perhaps?
Two of the four stars in a box, outshone the rest
 - when Moon escaped the cloudy hedge
A few belts with triune stars consoled

Summer Stargazing

Novalunosis: the state of wonderment while gazing at stars

 

On a summer moonless night
when peace has settled and is still
the stars across the vaulted sky
no doubt is the most majestic sight

Much like a beacon calling out
its pull I feel tugs at my heart
there’s some connection that’s most primal
~ can’t really say what it’s about

Gazing into the starlit sky for a peaceful realm,
Delicate patterns a million light years away
Where no one knows who or what is at the helm,
Gazing into the starlit sky for a peaceful realm.
The twinkling of innumerable stars can overwhelm,
Amid the unfathomable reaches of the Milky Way

Hold up let me flow when I used to know how to really pack those syllables,
When I'm stargazing falling in love found Aphrodite above,
When I was battling with Lucy jealous for my style,
At night I express my love when I saw the messages that lay to one,
When no peers saw the reverse spring

I sauntered gently into the lilac dusk to gaze at
The twinkling star on a Saturday. I blew it a kiss, then it

Odyssey From Africa - Stargazing 1

King Ptolemy the Second (cont.)

Sleek of line for speedy sailing 
It was rugged in construction 
Several layers of well cured timber
Lined the hull and bridge and gunwales 
 
There were four great masts with mainsails
Han surveyed its scale and features 
And was overwhelmed with wonder  
At such masterful shipbuilding 

As the king now hailed

Of the magic light that comes out at night,

Colourful and white and all of them bright,

A heavenly sight all bunched up so tight,

Stargazing

Empty stare no stars in sight nor light he eats his Milky Way with telescopic grind
munches another here and there anticipates the Universe with all its loony moons

Assembles concentric mirrors in horizontal guise wishes himself light years away
where prisms focus rainbows at the top of a star trek feeding the mountain’s girth

Too late it dawns
