A child's world is magical.
All resonates with beauty charm and fantasy.
A pure soul most angelic.

out of a shallow dip
catch-water field
of landscape polished rock
a shock of pregnant junipers
in pine pitch laden sunlight
olive-green fires arise
and my eyes bedazzle
gossamer
floating specks
of bees
new hatched
butterflies
golden jump
and spiral
as if tethered
to child’s witching wand
random rode
the windless air
At the grand old Springtime Mingle Fest,
Folks arrived all groomed and dressed their best.
One wore stripes with dots,
One brought fifteen pots,
And one came in pajamas for “comfort and rest.”
A banker discussed gourmet cheese
With a pirate who sneezed in the breeze.
A poet nearby
Recited to pie,
While bees chased a man through the trees.
A lady named Myrtle from Maine
Danced wildly like runaway rain.
She twirled with a mop,
Knocked over the punch pot,
Then blamed it entirely on Spain.
A shy little fellow named Clyde
Tried mingling but mostly just sighed.
He smiled at a chair,
Spilled soup in his hair,
Then proudly announced, “Socialized!”
Two cats crashed the gathering hall,
Ignoring good manners and all.
They stole half the fish,
Licked every dish,
Then napped on the mayor’s best shawl.
The music grew louder at nine;
An uncle attempted to shine.
He moonwalked too hard,
Fell straight in the yard,
And rose saying, “Just part of the line!”
By midnight the minglers agreed
That chaos was all they would need.
For though things went wrong,
They laughed loud and long—
And friendship grew faster than weed.
People talk of the birds and bees
As a placeholder for the broader world
Reproducing in fecundity along with May flowers.
But there’s a deeper reason for the association
And it’s the sight and sound
Of them being relentlessly busy.
We notice them, their flights
And their buzzings and chirpings,
And more importantly we feel those sounds
In our very core,
A vibration that relieves of us stress
Releases endorphins
Makes us whole, and thus holy,
And reminds us
Maybe we too should take the time
To dance and sing, and build our nests
In the rejuvenating comfort
Of spring’s warm embrace.

blossoms drifting down,
one settles inside the cup,
nature joins my tea.
Whimsical wishes for springtime fun
Eager to tan my skin in the yellow sun
Emerald kite bounces beneath blue sky
Kissing white clouds as red birds fly by
Elegant art of painters poets photographers
Nuanced views in pretty pictures and words
Dancing on pupils and in every ear heard

While moonbeams dance 'pon midnight skies
she calls the echoes friend
Midst evergreens and fireflies
as cattail whispers send
Sweet thoughts of joy, a soft confess,
melodic 'fore the breeze
Where lyrics float like dandelion,
adrift among the trees
She rides atop a hummingbird,
it's feathers emerald green
Beneath a starlit canopy,
a cosmic glowing scene
She brings the spring, awaited long,
as winter bids farewell
Like harmonies, the sweetest song,
when gardens feel her spell
While buds anew, now wake from sleep,
be gone such clouded gloom
Each sunny greeting, comes to reap,
their fragrant April bloom
And Jasimine o'er the arbor crawls,
such beauty born the eyes
'long river beds and cascade falls
and crimson butterflies
lo' bluest skies of azure bliss
and dew drops on the lawn
The sunrise sends its gentle kiss,
in tangerine this dawn
So, rise from bed, no longer lay,
make haste, you're sure to see
The glory in each April day,
a springtime majesty

Spring came quietly this year
It came through rain soaked fields
It came through hope and tears
It shone light through minds to yield
To focus on the positive
To focus on the good
No war or darkness could resist
God's plan for humanhood
Spring crocuses and daffodils
Bloomed and brought us joyful bliss
They showed us nature's brightness
They brought us happiness
No ice left in roads or hearts
The way made soft and warm
Delightful moments of serendipity
Spreading hope for a new dawn
Where people are all equal
No one is above or below or displaced
No religion or politics or evil
Only goodness and mercy and grace
Where we are one nation under God
One human collective movement
Our souls connected in love and light
Our beautiful hearts in tune
Forgiveness and kindness strong
Courage to do the right thing (every time)
To stand in our souls' love and light
In the freedom of springtime

Mow, mow let me out of this place
I want to go and hunt til I’m off my face
Put the birdies, the mice’s and the rats in their place
Watch out your gonna die
Misty puss is back on the fly!
the smell of springtime
flowers open new petals
dew hangs from their vine
starlings
chirping with glee
silence evades their souls
happiness flies from their small beaks
singing
spring is on the way
i see greeness peek through snow
i'm so excited
manure spreading
farmers fields become true green
tiny plants emerge
Because you are a special one,
beside the creatures of Nature,
befriend the one whose trust you’ve won
before lines of their crenature
belie the underlying earth,
becoming mulch for Spring’s new birth.
