Spring is most certainly an uplifting time, 
All around Life growing
With infectious enthusiasm,
But lately I’ve been feeling mine
Beginning to unravel.

I knew it would come eventually
But now I’ve reached the point
Where I could care less 
About what I have done
Or who I have become
Simply because it is all 
Just so many layers, 
Built

Spring

While springtime presses in on my thoughts,
	forcing me to believe that even the stillness
		the clingy silence who drenches my spirit
in rhythms of non-regret, rhythms of pure peace
releasing my soul from the fading feelings,
the emotions that store up broken dreams, 
broken hearts, brokenness –
	like books to read, someday –
		when the time is right, when I don’t

i have never seen madrid in the springtime
i have never seen madrid at all

does the sun rise differently in madrid
than in san francisco
on those rare city days when there is no fog
nor wind to chase the clouds away

i have seen morning in san francisco
where lovers stroll hand in hand
down meandering paths
parting with the

Something warm in the wind 
Puts the color back with ease, 
'Round the stems of flowers 
Into the limbs of trees ...
Newness to the place around 
Greenery born upon the breeze. 

Hummingbirds

hummingbirds fly fast
eating nectar from flowers
oh I love these birds
