Ode to a Cat
You never ask for the spotlight,
yet the second you walk in, the room belongs to you.
You wear your quiet like a favorite sweater,
reminding me that silence can be incredibly comforting.
You only come for a cuddle when it’s your idea—
and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.
?That slow, sleepy blink says everything we need to say,
and your rumbling purr patches up the rough edges of my day.
You brush off an argument with a long, dramatic stretch,
tell me exactly how you feel with a flick of your tail,
and look at the morning as if we conquered the night together.
?You ask for so little—just a warm lap, a sunny spot, and trust.
Sitting here with you, I’ve finally figured out
that love doesn't need to shout to be real.
For all your mysterious ways, my friend,
you didn't just move into my house;
you quietly made yourself right at home in my heart.
I won a final
So many said you're lucky
And I said I'm ain't
I'm blessed
Not because I'm the most important
But because I put in the work.
I wrote a masterpiece
So many said you're talented
And I said I'm ain't
I'm gifted
Not because I'm perfect
I write with muse not overthinking.
I leveled up
Then they said you got pride
And I said I'm ain't
I only endowed my worth
So I set boundaries
I've never seen a snake bite from afar.
Truth trips the tongue mid-stage
the mask cracks in the glare,
applause feeds on the lie
failure wears a spotlight.
youth fades with truth
truth holds the proof
smooth words uncouth
truth hides the proof
uncouth truth

Monocrostic (Birthday of Gerlie Trinidad)
Reality words
Standing alone
A story told
Woes seen
Between mysteries after another
Circumstances encountered
Down to broke
Pavement living
Cries full of desperation
Mistakes that were made
Gambling and Drugging
No excuses for actions
Time passed on and beyond
No Family nor Friends support
Lonely
All alone
Winters came
Shivering in the cold
Roasting in the summer
Begging to survive
Human rag thrown out
Life was no longer mine
Who was I?
An unknown on the streets
As I walked, a voice said “BE STILL AND WAIT”
I moved slightly, and the voice repeated, “BE STILL”
It was a human voice, but a spiritual one
I began to kneel, and gave praise to the Lord
Life was starting to change
One must believe
Blessings started to pour
My feet planted on solid ground of a new revelation
The discovery with an honor
Encouraging words so true being my follow through
Pavement no more
Living all assured
Divine goodness
I am the witness
The Story
Glory
Glare, he strides with might
Echoes of cheers and whispers of fright
Bold claims and visions, the nation awakes
A dance of power, as history shakes

Lost at sea yet the lighthouse blinds me,
crash into a cliff and a siren’s beckoning,
breast beat slowing as gravity crushes me in twilight.
As my specter bubbles to the surface,
I come by an ancient creature,
bioluminescence and teeth jagged.
He seems friendly.
Who am I to judge.
A darkened stage
Excitement rise
Soon to appear
Queen with blue eyes
There you are
Bright spotlight
Someday may I
Be your knight?
On pillows walk
When you're with me
No need for talk
All things can be
I'd do my best
To you provide
And for the rest
My love applied
And with that love
I'd shower you
With all I am
And all I do
And maybe you
Might love me too
With all you are
And all you do
Remember
when I was in third grade,
my first “pas seul” in basic ballet.
Off stage, I was nervous, blinded by the spotlights.
I had learned my routine like a book,
and Mom's words came to mind,
“Look for Dad.”
His face shown like a star.
Past the forest of faceless figures,
you both were standing right where you said you would be.
I knew that you were praying for me.
that was all I needed
to blossom.

Spotlight flashing cameras lights, action, and love. Is how I felt the very first time, we met. Spotlight on a red carpet, entering into a new feeling. Of scared, happy, and this might actually work. Spotlight I saw you, on the other side of your friend. You looked so beautiful with your own style. Spotlight is what I think about, when it comes to loving you/ us. Spotlight a glance of your heart it's big like my own. Spotlight I can see that, your a caring person. Spotlight I felt like a millionaire that hit the jackpot, of you loving Me. Spotlight one, two, three check check is the sound, of my heart. Playing our song. Spotlight.
Stellars under the darkest night
Glowing plight in constellation
Silhouettes afar from the moonlight
Speeding lights in formation
Stellars faint in a blue Moon
Sellars taint in a covered Moon
Faces of stellars form in names
Braces of altars dorm in flames
Stellars catalyze in many places
Like sheer diamonds in pieces
Stellars ascend in night's bleakest
As the Moon descend at its weakest
Each stellar behind the Moon smiles
As the Moon traipse and beguiles
Facing all other crystal lights
Moon stays bright like Stellars in spotlights
Shining from within
you never need a spotlight
God will pull you through
Once there was a spotlight
hanging on a stage
she’d shine and make it brighter
for musicians turning the page.
The performers thought she was too bright
and hurt everyone’s eyes
so they took down the rope holding her
and let maintenance say their goodbyes.
The spotlight stayed passive
even as they tied her knot
and now the brightest spotlight
finds the peace it silently sought.
