Mask of Truth

Truth trips the tongue mid-stage
the mask cracks in the glare,
applause feeds on the lie
failure wears a spotlight.
          youth fades with truth
          truth holds the proof
          smooth words uncouth
          truth hides the proof
          uncouth truth
